No the TV speakers are turned off. The cable box is plugged into the receiver (HDMI) another HDMI is plugged into the TV. I do the same with the laptop. Plug in the HDMI from the laptop to the receiver. The signal is split so the video goes to the TV and the receive handles the sound. I set the laptop to show only on the TV when I do this so the laptop screen shuts off.

And the Directv Now app doesn't work on Edge but it does on Chrome... Which I have on PC and laptop.

HDMI is great because it's so universal. If you bought a Roku for streaming, you can plug the HDMI into it according to their site. :)

Yes but with the streaming stick I'd have to buy a wall adapter for power. Due to the fact it needs to plug into a usb port for power. Which I don't have on the receiver. And I just can't go back to using the TV speakers.

I’ve never used the sticks. I’m on my second Roku cube and I love it. No USB, just HDMI connection. I also have Apple TV from maybe 5 years back, but haven’t used it much. I have basic external speakers hooked up to my TV sound outputs. Just a 2:1 setup. I bought a cheap splitter to go from red & white AV connectors down to a single 3.5 mm jack. If it can be done with my dinky setup, nothing’s gonna be hard to do! (My TV is really old with no modern connections beyond HDMI)

Edit: Also the Roku remote lets you connect headphones to it. Very nice for those of us who wrecked our hearing on loud music in the 70’s. ;)

Wal-Mart is killing me... another 20 hr day but "only" 960 miles... the cash counting machine they use is a POS...

imagine you having to put your car into the shop 3-5 times a week..... yup that often.... ( guess I shouldnt complain, its making money for me) but the Engineer in me sez............ itza POS!! obviously the design engineers were just out of college, didnt think about the "whatifs" senerios... such as what if the dollar bill is slightly torn, or gravity isnt constant, or the quarter has a bit of gunk on it.... never design a machine for perfect conditions, design it for the worst conditions o_O

and I also found out that I am the highest rated driver for LSO in the south/south east....
guess that explains why I get so many calls to do stuff...

I asked them how they rate drivers and I was told it goes by...
percent of on time deliveries ( 99%+)
mileage driven ( over 10,000 per month)
company "profit" ( over 2500$ per month) ( WHAAAT??!?!?!?!?!! thats how much i didnt make?)

so I did some research and looked deeper into my summary report and yupperz, they make some serious profits off of my hard work.... 1100$ just for last week... ( which consisted of 28 deliveries, 3600 miles and who knows how many hours...100? maybe) if Im such a awesome asset to the company ... than raise my take to 80% ;)

but before I go...what ever happened to Mr. Googely Eye ( Dusty)....???

He devotes his time to his foodie blogging pursuits. He has a decent sized following already. His recipes look incredible. Between his chef skills and photography skills, he has the makings of some big success.

Congrats on those driver ratings, good luck negotiating a bigger share and stay safe for crying out loud!!! (Yes, I just went full on mom mode on you.)

Dang. I’m awake in the wee hours. Might as well have coffee. I’m stuffy nosed and my feline foot puncture wound hurts and woke me up. Grrrr.
You may want to get that puncture looked at. Is it throbbing? swollen? red?

Bonus girl had all 4 wisdom teeth out yesterday. She has state aid so we went to a different Oral Surgeon than I would normally use. Her face is double the normal size and bruises bigger than golf balls. I'd say he was way too rough... won't be going back to him or sending any patients there in the future.

Here’s the foodie blog of @Dusty_D :

Dusty's Foodie Adventures

I just realized he hasn’t posted any new recipes in a long time. Maybe moved to a different blogging platform or something. I’m not on Facebook anymore. Maybe someone on there knows what he’s been up to.
