Yeah, that's not a good mix for auctions. Got to be willing to walk away. That's kind of true with a lot of things. If it aint right, just walk away. Don't even think about it. Just walk. I've walked out of car dealers the last two times. I had a number in my head and I stayed with it. They let me go both times. They called back the next day.

Yikes... That's ok Directv Now is working on a cloud DVR... Only a few shows I keep track of just need to remember when they are on..
Dont know about the Science Channel but I'll have to check it out. Any whiff of a problem I have I just remove/reload the app. If that's how you are watching it.
Was watching on DTVN most of the day. Well if it don't come back I'll try some other things.. Watching Fantastic Four (FX) now anyway.
So I've been DVR several old movies off of SyFy and FX. Iron Man 2, Independence Day, and others. The DVR allows me to come back to it, and Fast Forward through the stupid commercials.

My old honda failed me again today, in the middle of a busy 6 lanes of traffic in Tulsa! I tried not to panic, but man my heart was pounding... Called 911 for police. Realized after I hung up that car was still running so I gave it lots of gas and it moved! I limped it into the QT parking lot and waited for DH to come with the trailer. It's the alternator again, just put that in 2 years ago. It is still under warranty, but it's the labor DH has to do to get it on and off that is awful. Sooooo very thankful it's fixable tho. I can't afford a new car right now.
If that happened to a man that would have been a big pain in the azz. It's worse than that for a woman. I can imagine it freaked you out. And no matter how badly DH would have wanted to get to you he'd have to snarl himself up in the same traffic and it would take him forever to get to you.
Consider AAA if you don't have it. It's worth every penny for a woman. If nothing else, you can get protection quickly.
I think AAAs cheapest plan is $50 bucks /year or about for new members if you look around for promos. I'm guessing you'd of happily dropped a Ulysses whilst your heart was pounding stuck in the middle of that traffic cluster. That is no place for a woman.

Wow! Scary for sure. Sounds like you kept your cool incredibly well. Also sounds like you had an angel on your shoulder!
I’ll second Bronze on AAA. They’ve helped me out of more than one jam. Including the time our old Honda self-locked while running in the driveway in a blistering hot day with the AC running on high. I had to run back in the house for something. The guy didn’t even laugh at me. Much.
