So I’m a little bummed out. I was supposed to go to San Diego tomorrow with sadie to visit my friend and just get out of here for a bit. Well, said daughter is swamped with homework and we had to cancel.

So anyone with grown kids that have left Home want to chime in how precious this time is and that she’lll be gone before I know it? I could use a little reality check :)

It does go by so incredibly fast. When she has some down time from studying, cuddle up on the couch and watch something you both enjoy. Cherish the quiet alone time. You won't have many more of these.

Good lesson for her priorities first, unfortunately I’m sure you already learned that lesson which makes it suck.

Well it is good she wants to do homework. I would be thrilled with that. The time will pass quickly, and in the blink of an eye. If you need to get away, could she stay at her grandma's house and study? Mom's do need to get out now and then. Getting out of town is good for your stress level.

I don’t have any family here, and I don’t want to go without her. I’ll have plenty of opportunities in the future. I’m going to make plans for tomorrow night locally and maybe take on white washing a desk. No clue how to do it, but it’ll keep me busy.

Besides all the good advice everyone mentioned so far, I can vouch for how much you’ll appreciate the additional freedom and free time you gain on the other side. You’ll have earned it too - which makes it all the sweeter. :)

Hey! We had a similar situation today when I went in for a meeting at work. Roads were closed and blocked with police, helicopter circling, Hospital was on lock down, eventually they got the dogs and found the person they were looking for in the orange groves adjacent to the hospital (it’s our land but we aren’t using it right now). I guess he was an armed burgulat or something. I was just grateful to finally be able to leave the building!

I think helicopters are mostly for manhunts

That is freaky! It is a small world but it’s also getting weirder and weirder.

Another oddity that’s probably just par for the course happened at the market yesterday. Back of the store, I’m reaching into the cooler to grab half n half. Suddenly hear a voice right next to my ear: “Excuse me!” A guy leans right in between me and my cart and opens the door next to me to get whatever he needed.

This is odd to me because in my day folks waited for you to finish. We took turns! He scared me pretty good, moving in so fast and aggressively! Makes me sad how common courtesy is no longer common. Then again, at least he said “Excuse me!”

Good afternoon, Army. :)

Sunshine and moderating temps. Tomorrow will hopefully hit in the 70's. *crossing fingers*

Colonoscopy scheduled for Tuesday... joy

I am not worried. I really don't think anything will be found. I'm using Suprep as the preparation. It looks like it will be much easier to handle than that gallon of .... vomit inducing crap of past colonoscopy preps.

I’ll be praying on Tuesday!

Good Morning Army. Warmer weather means crawling under the house. Thrilling ! (NOT)
April, this is my take - If the homework gets done this afternoon and a boy in a pickup truck shows up around 6 pm, don't freak out. If the boy doesn't show up, you could take her to the movies.
And when they are gone, find something to do with yourself. Even if it's just art classes at a local community college. Just do not sit at home watching depressing shows.
Time for coffee...

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

I saw the stop the vape ban stuff. I read a story where big tobacco has some sort of device that heats real tobacco, but doesn't burn it. It hasn't come out yet, I don't think. I plan to vape e juice. The big T groups just won't give up, and I know they have lost some business. I think they have a heavy hand in the FDA stuff on this. Still I know people who plan to keep smoking regular tobacco, and they don't want to vape. I haven't smoked one cigarette since I started vaping. I'm good with that.
