So I had an old N600 router and a 50 foot, CAT 6 ethernet cable that was collecting dust. I decided to run the cable from my office (downstairs on one end of the house) to the bonus room (upstairs at the other end of the house). Wasn't hard at all. Up one wall, through the attic, down another wall. I converted the N600 to an access point and it is up and running. All I have left to do is dress up the walls with a jack and wall plate and it's done. Basically a free installation since I had nothing better to do with the old router and cable. The signal is slightly stronger upstairs with the N600 than the Nighthawk coming from the office. Not by much but a little. So now I'm getting 110 mbps on my wired connections downstairs and 95 mbps on the 5GHz connection upstairs (I was getting 87 mbps on the Nighthawk). This house is more than drenched in wifi now.Yup....but I didn't have lunch till about 3:30 so not hungry yet...
