And I just heard that Florida is passing a bill to make Daylights Savings Time a year-round thing. The same news reports talked about the history of DST. It was originally used during war and was called War Time - it was year-round until it was repealed.
Yep. That's true. skies stayed lighter for longer to eyeball incoming air raids. With DST in England it can stay dusk till 10 pm at night.

Good Morning Army. Maybe we should try Trucker Savings Time - roll the clocks back four hours. Sun comes up at 2am, goes down around 4pm. Wouldn't that be nice ?
Hula is still kicking. You know how Bronze worries ...

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Hmmmm.

I'm looking to pick up an angle grinder. Mine grew legs 20 years ago and walked off. I never replaced it. I could really use one. Want a slightly used one or a new one that had the box opened. Looking on ebay auctions. Can't believe what these bozos pay for them. I can get a new DeWalt for $79 off Amazon (free shipping as Prime member). These clowns pay $65, $70, $80. Just pay the extra few bucks and get a brand new one with all the warranties intact. Don't know why they are willing to pay near retail for a used tool. Makes no sense. You can get decent deals on ebay but not with tools.

General, I have two angle grinders. One is a Dewalt that I paid around $70 for at Home Depot. It's a good grinder - typical Dewalt quality. The thing that bugs me is that the on/off switch is on the left side, and I'm left-handed, so it's awkward to use.

I recently bought another grinder from Harbor Freight. It has a paddle switch on the bottom, so it's completely ambidextrous. I like it much better, and it seems to have just as much power. I got it on sale for $20. It's this one:

4-1/2 in. 6 Amp Heavy Duty Paddle Switch Angle Grinder

HF is sorta like Sears used to be: Everything is on sale all the time. But they have big sales regularly where they discount even more. And sometimes they will have coupons to knock off even more.

It's all made in China, and the quality is all over the place. Some of their stuff is great, some is horrible, and a lot is in between. This angle grinder seems to be one of the good ones.

Say, that would work for coders too! Except that - being weirdos and contrarians - coder hours would still need to be opposite whatever the rest of the world is doing. :)

Good morning, friends!

What a relief! I’m glad you checked in. Now Bronze can stop losing his hair. ;)

Bronze, I adore HT. I use it more than any other. I mix it with just about everything too. That and Legend have been my top 2 HHV vapes for a while.

Hula, it is about time you showed up. We were wondering if you were okay. It is peaceful here once again. A few minutes ago it was loud in here with both dogs barking. The neighbors had some kid out there blowing a trumpet in the most aggravating way. They weren't practicing, they were just trying to make as much noise as possible. Bella acted like it was the apocalypse. I couldn't even carry on a phone conversation. I didn't hear it at first, but Bella did. The barking woke Cassie up and she also started barking. I went out to see, and sure enough I heard it, and it only got louder. The boonies are calling for me. I know, I've said it before. I just can't help repeating that, especially right now.

Harbor Freight deals in a lot of junk. Good when you don't use a tool that much or don't care if you lose it.

New Orleans La.
the weekend dispatch shift are either loaded out of thier minds or they dont know how to work...
they called me at 5:40pm to make a 6:01pm pickup ( pick up location is 22 miles away and its Sat nite traffic), they didnt know how to print up the work order and told me to write it down.... I told them that is about as unprofessional as a company can get.. sooo... I get to the pickup point ( Walgreens for a Rx)at 6:42 and its closed... it closed at 6pm ( ya think they would know this and choose one that is open 24 hrs) so basically, the place was closed before pickup time was available... and!!! they wanted me to wait there until they solved the SNAFU... ummm nooo.

lol... just got a phone call to redo this snafu... Im supposed to pick up from a 24hr pharmacy at 8:45pm... they should have done this the first time around...o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

Beautiful day here. Went running at 8:30 this morning, about 55 degrees. Got up to 70 this afternoon. Did some shopping with a friend and picked up Kal's repaired laptop.

Took the boys to get phone screens repaired and new batteries yesterday. Tried to use apple for the batteries, ended up telling them to stuff it and used Phone Doctors for both. Great service there, highly recommend.

Taking my Mom to see Finding Neverland tomorrow, it was my Christmas gift to her. The Performing Arts Center is supposed to have an infrared hearing device, I hope it works for her as I'd like to get her season tickets next birthday/Christmas.

Fran, you are up? I've been up for an hour. We had one heck of a storm blow through here. The downpour was so hard that it filled my rain container to about 1/2" from the top. That is a whole days worth of good rain, and it only took less than half an hour. Hail, lightning, wind. I am sure 5 days of geoengineering this month had NOTHING to do with this at all. About 10 or 15 minutes after it started, I went to go look outside. My porch was flooding. Good thing I left those kitchen bags filled with water stay, and I didn't take them away. So yes, I was pushing the water off with my broom again. This used to be a very very rare thing. Not anymore! The bad thing is I drove by the river yesterday afternoon, and it was very high. I am sure this didn't help. There is another front coming. I hope it misses us, but that looks unlikely.
