While the vet's office is packed with dried food, the recommendation is to provide mostly wet food, because dry food is carb city. And cats will get fat, get diabetes and so on. However, that recommendation only works insofar as kitty is well and doesn't require special diets from the vets, and whether they self monitor their food, (will they walk away when they're full or just shovel it in, because it's there). With my 2, one is an eater, and the other isn't. I think also that dried food is popular because it's easy to serve and easy to clean. Personally, I provide 2 servings of wet food, and a side of crunchies to each of mine. You can probably figure out what Munchie does

. Buttons however is either real picky, or doesn't even think about overeating, Not sure which it is at this point. Perhaps I haven't figured out his favorite flavors.
