That little furball lives up to her name. She was around 6 - 8 weeks old when I got her. I took a few days to get to know her. The name that came to me was Song. She wasn’t particularly noisy back then. It just “seemed right” for her.

I have never known a cat to be so enamored of her own voice. She loves the cathedral ceilings here. She has 3 favorite spots where she will go, tip her head to the ceiling and “sing” her meows. She actually holds the note quite impressively. Sometimes she goes on and on singing out these notes one after the other for several minutes.

I’ve known cats to meow over their toys or their prey. Some are just chatterboxes. This gal would be a star at @Hulamoon ’s opera house. :)

So far today has been a bit better, thank goodness. I've been busier than a one-armed paper hanger. Too many small fires to put out, so to speak.

The weather here has been absolutely hellish. It will be 99 today, with a real feel well into the 100's, with wind. My plants are suffering from it, and I have been over watering some, and under watering others. Normally I don't have issues with that, but this is not a typical late spring into early summer. I gave Bella a bath outside, and she stepped on my toe, and it pulled the meat away from my toenail. I didn't realize it had been bleeding until later. I was on the phone trying to sort out an issue with customer service twice, and forgot about some plants I had on the old table in the sun. Some got sunburned badly. One of my favorite cactus got too much sun and heat, and went pretty mushy on me. I thought I would water that pot, but didn't. Then I thought it was getting rot when the cactus went mushy. I pulled all the cactus out, and it wasn't too wet at all. That sun has been brutal. It must be at the highest uv rating there is. I did rot at least 3 of my young starts I had on the table. So I whacked the bottom off, and will have to start all over again. I hope none of the others are in bad shape, I will know soon. In a few days we are supposed to get cooler weather. I can't wait for that.

I never finished Cassie's hair cut. It is too hot today to do it. I have to speak to the customer service again, and I'm not happy about that. They are trying to give me the run around, and I'm frustrated about that. I dread getting them on the phone again today. I made sure this time all my plants are on the porch, and not out sunning, before I make the call.

I hope everyone that cannot take the heat manages to stay cool. :)

So, my CEA dropped 9.4 points. 'Yippee!'

Bad news, tumors are still slowly growing. Hopefully this new chemo will work in shrinking these or even manage to get them to a place where I Can have the HIPEC. Next CT scan in three months.

Not sure if I have a UTI or a problem with my kidney. Need to go to Labcorp to find out what I need to do to do a urine collection. They were already closed when I got out of chemo today. First thing in the morning I will drive myself there to find out.

The joys of my life

More good news, the cancer on my liver seems to have disappeared again. I think the Essiac Tea is what is controlling that. Wish it would work on the rest. When I stop the tea, cancer on my liver shows up. Drink the tea and the liver looks normal. Still no lymph nodes are showing any irregularity. So no lymph node involvement which is a good thing.

A bit of lightheadedness towards the end of the session. Took back roads and drive very carefully home. Pretty much the same way I felt the first couple of times when I started chemo way back when. I imagine my body will get used to this also.

All in all a long but decent day. Started the icing of the hands to minimize the damage again. They actually look fairly normal right now. Trying to keep them that way. ;).

Good afternoon Army ! :D

Good news on the CEA score. At least it went in the right direction. With a new chemo treatment can you expect different side effects?

Yes. The cold sensitivity will not be present any longer. Nor will first bite and it won't feel like my eyes are being stabbed if I do cry tears. Neuropathy will not get worse. Very good thing. I still have numbness in my toes but nothing painful.

There is a smaller list of some side effects that can happen. One is shall I say...loose bowels  The list of side effects does not mean that they WILL happen, just that these have been known. Oh, I could instead be constipated.

In other words, I won't really know till they present themselves. When they do, I will figure out what to do to lessen the severity. :)

So Robin, you've had good and bad news. Sounds like you are on the right track though. I never heard of that tea, I will have to look that up. I am still busy trying to take care of some "issues". Too much to get into to talk about. I have spent too long on this, and it isn't over yet. Thankfully I've been in the house most of the day, soaking up the A/C. That is the best part for sure.

Rick did some major research when I was first diagnosed with the recurrence. He found that Essiac tea had to be made with the root of the plant used. When the laparoscopic diagnosis was done to confirm the metastasis, a biopsy was done on something they found on the liver. The next PET scan, after I had been drinking the Essiac tea, did not show anything nor did the next few CT scans.

As my CEA rose, I felt that the tea was doing nothing so elected to not drink it anymore. Kind of nasty earthy tasting stuff. Low and behold, liver spots started showing up on the next CT scan. Back to the tea I went, clear scans, for my liver only. So I will continue to have Rick make the tea. He makes almost three canning jars per batch. I drink 2 + ounces a night.

I pulled an idiot move. Cleaned the condenser on my AC units outside (house). I spray it with some caustic crap and let it foam up for ten minutes. Degreases it and cleans them real good. Only problem is I used a pressure washer to rinse it out and it flattened all the fins on it. Now my AC can't keep up. I should have known. I'm an idiot!! So I need to comb it out. They make special condenser combs for that sort of thing but they are kinda crap and don't work very well. I see people on you tube using a regular rat tail comb with those fine teeth on them. Cut them in 1.25 inch wide strips and grab the spine with a pair of vise grips then comb the fins. So I have to run out to the store and find some rat tail combs. I could kill myself.

This is good news! And some uncertainty. Thanks for updating us. You and Rick are inspiring.

Prayers continue and one of the things we are praying for is for help for both of you in finding treatments and remedies that will help you through. :)

Hey, you’re human. You’ll fix it up. Try not to be too angry at the time you need to spend. These things happen. Usually I take it as a sign that I need to slow down.

Don’t forget the holy water and say a blessing over those AC units. ;)

Good grief! You have been having a time of it. Hope it’s all upward from here! Sending more hugs your way.

I was on the phone with customer service for an hour and a half trying to straighten one problem out. There are others, that still need my attention. I decided to call the ISP to help me with some questions. I thought maybe a 20-30 minute call. The AI/robotic voice put me through to billing and sales. I did not know that is who I was speaking to at first. I had questions, and she was trying to get me to sign up for stuff I didn't want. My bp was rising. Finally she put me through to the one I should've spoken to in the first place. The guy was quite nice, and he made up for the first person I talked to. He did the best he could, and I did appreciate it. The issue has been resolved for the time being. It has been one hot mess from all the things like that, that have been going on recently.

Poor Cassie still didn't get her hair cut finished today either. Her cherry eye came back, and I haven't been able to fix it yet, too. I try to put eye drops in her eyes, and she fights me. The past two days I haven't even had time to mess with it. I need to give her a bath, and finish her hair. I re-watched videos, and they make it look easy. She doesn't like her foot pads cut, I think it tickles her. I persist in getting the job done. Her face and eyes are always a challenge, and the hardest part. She won't be still and pulls away when I try to cut in that area. I'm afraid of poking her eye with the scissors. Even so, she is still MUCH EASIER to trim now, than she used to be! I see on the videos they hold the dog by the chin hair and around the head. Cassie has control issues if I try to do that. LOLLLL. The dogs have been good today though, I think they knew I wasn't in the mood for fun and games, so they chilled out for me.
