Say BK. I need to do some sandblasting. Have one of those low end guns (and cannister) to hook up to my small shop compressor. Just for small work. Long ago I used to use silica sand but can't find that anywhere close. So I'm thinking regular playsand would be OK for the piddlin' little crap I use it for. You see any issues with that?

Evening....Time for beer...Late lunch so I'll snack on something later...

On the left side of that island there is a point that extends into the water. Run your bait on the other side of that underwater extension (the deeper side) and you'll pick off some bronzebacks.

My thoughts exactly. No reason to kill that snake. If it's in your way at least relocate it. Such a beautiful creature. Wiped out.
He could have let the snakes go their way , too bad he didn't take a bite for killing the animal as far as I'm concerned .

play sand fine grain ( let it dry well) is quite usable, preferably white sand ( sugar sand, hard to find) is a better choice, some people use masonary sand ( fractured sand, basically a course sand thats been crushed) with mixed results.

    He would have deserved it.

    Morning, friends!

Today’s project will be seasoning the mortar & pestle. First rice until there’s no more granite dust, then garlic then cumin. It will at least be an upper body workout. And it will prove the truism: the more you own, the more things own you. :)

I cleaned out space in the cupboard for it because my limited counter space is full. I’m gonna get more of a workout taking it in and out of the cupboard. Kinda like my smallish cast iron grill pan. Love it when I need to use it, but dang, that thing is heavy!

He would have deserved it. . . .

A neighbor of mine was bitten by a copperhead in a woodpile. It really screwed him up for several months. You guys can all snuggle up with the copperheads if you want to. But my job is to protect my family. That includes protecting them from things that can and, given the right opportunity, will bite them and inject venom into them.

My next door neighbor has 3 little kids and has a giant woodpile from a big tree they cut down. I hope they've warned the kids about playing on that woodpile. But they are city folk who moved to the country, so who knows.

I can not and will not agree with the killing of an animal that will go it's own way given the chance . The animals are there for a reason , rodents .

the wifey collects M&Ps... shes got about 12 of them and half of them are like ancient... one of them weighs about 30 lbs, its a huge chunk of ( i suppose granite) stone like material...

I can see why people collect them! They are lovely. And the history of their being used is a cool feeling. Ancestral connection and all that. I’ve seen people’s photos of their M&P’s and someone are like works of art. Ancient ones must be really wonderful to have. Could be worth money. ;)

My point is that you can kill that snake but another will take its place.

My point is that if you watch where you put your hands and feet as in don't put them where you can't see what's on the other side and use the proper tools to pull wood off of a woodpile then there's little chance of being bit . I deliberately went in harms way for years catching and keeping animals like that , if I can avoid taking a hit in those circumstances then anyone can .
