Only 2 more days for working at home.
Monday we move into our new office.
It's been a fast year for me.
Yikes...I gotta re-learn how to get up, get dressed and get out the door in the mornings.
I've been managing/overseeing 7 offices...boss gave me a fancy smancy title to go with having my own office in our new place...ready for this ? Operations Manager. Whoa...stand back - I be bad !

:lol: :lol::lol: :lol:

Well I have put off backing up the computer for a good while. Today I decided it was time. I only have a free program, but it does a pretty good job. I wish I could just plug in the external drive, and it backs up all changes on it's own. (especially pictures and documents)

Yesterday it heated up again, but it was acceptable compared to a few days ago. In a few days we should be having a cool front come in. That will be a nice change. I won't hold my breath on that.

Cassie is way overdo for a major haircut. I have trimmed on her some, but not the full treatment. It has just been too hot to deal with it. I hope to at least get the trimmers out and give her a close trim. I don't know about the toenails and all that. In better weather I am on top of it. The heat makes me procrastinate badly.

I've given up on external backup drives. Had two of them and they both crapped out in a month. One is inoperable. The other works for manual backups only so that's what I do...bout once a week. Good enuf for me.

There are a surprising number of pod systems available. Who doesn’t like a good research project?

Leaning towards Infinix. Can’t find it in stock.

What factor(s) make you favor that one? I know you are very thorough when you research these things. :)

Wonderful news! Big congrats to you. And my sympathies on having to relearn how to go to an office. I’ve been working from home since 1992. Almost had to get an office job a few years back. May have to in the near future. But the thought makes me break out in hives! I don’t know if I know how anymore!

(Yes, I am very spoiled in this way.)

General B, what happened to your external drives? When I had a full time practice, I backed up every day always manual. I would back up and wind down at the same time. I bought a "backup" drive once, it crapped. Then I bought two empty 2.5 external cases and chose my own drives to put in them.

Back when my files were more mission critical, I sprang for several LaCie external drives. Expensive as all heck, but they’ve held up beautifully.

Must find wood to knock on....

At one point midway through the development of that mission critical software, the client company contact I worked with expressed a desire to take out a million dollar policy on my life. It was a big deal and I was the sole developer. He was partially serious. But the thought of that still makes me giggle nervously.

In other news, I researched and finally chose a mortar and pestle. My spice grinder is kaput. So I’m going old-school. Come to find out it’s a Thing! People are really into these things. Who knew?

Whatever topic you research online, you will pretty much always find an entire sub-culture sourrounding it. What a funny world.

LA, I have a mortar and pestle. It doesn't get much use, but I have it if I need it. I particularly like to use it to grind up peppermints for my homemade cough medicine. It calls for two or three of them, now I forget which. Luckily I wrote it down of course. I can't depend on my memory, that is for sure.

One of them is in the bone box (just does not work). The other one I use for manual backups. It is password protected which is what I like about it. I could probably set up some backup software but then I have to keep it plugged in and I'm out of ports on my laptop. Tried running backups thru my Nighthawk using a 3.0 USB. Worked great for about three weeks then repeatedly puked before giving up on that. I'm at a point in my life where I have come to grips with knowing I am a nobody and my stuff simply is not that important to me or anyone else. So I manually backup when I need to. If I lose something from my latest backup then so be it. In reality, my stuff is about as important as a mole on an elephant azz.

I'm thinking about trying a Suorin Air for something pocketable when I don't really want to carry my Eleaf iStick and KF3.1. I'm not sure if that's a pod system or not. I know someone who has one and he likes it.

I'm impressed you are still using the 3.1.

Haven't touched my kayfun in over a year. Can't build coils right now :(

Thank God I found the Kabuki before all this crap started. Plug and play is about all I want to handle these days.

I know vaping is just a habit for me these days. That day and night I spent in the hospital, I vaped probably a total of four times. At least until the following morning the day I was released. I didn't get antsy for nic at all. Even had a private room, cancer patients get private rooms, another perk of having cancer? Silver lining and all that jazz. ;)

After my resection four years ago, I vaped as much as I could get away with.

That was a big copperhead alright. I've never seen one that big. Thankfully I rarely see one anyway.

Bronze, I don't plug my external drive as much as I used to. I just do manual backups now and then. Mainly I worry about losing photos, so I make sure I back them up. Just in case the computer goes on the frizz by accident, or whatever...I try to stay somewhat up to date. Sure as I don't a big uh oh will happen. I'd rather suffer with the backup than lose my stuff. I also back up my bookmarks. I have a ton of those as well.
