Ready Player One is a little weird. The whole "escaping the doomed reality of the future" into a cyber world is a little far fetched. But they manage to pull it off. Young orphaned hero, mysterious love interest, evil corporate lord, friends who fight beside you no matter what the odds, and a typically bang-up ending struggle for all humanity across several realities that Spielberg delivers. The FX was top notch, although much of it was computer generated characters and scenery. SKG did an excellent job with that. And several generations of Pop Culture references.
Just seemed a little far fetched for an old fart.

Thanks for the reminder DD. She is on my mind every day. She went far too young. I wish she could've made it to her birthday at the very least. The holidays are going to be rough for her grieving family for sure. They are still in my prayers.

The rain persists here. I don't ever remember such a long rainy season as this one. (not even close) We had a break yesterday mostly. Today it started up again. It has been well over a month and a half already of this.
It is also almost 20 degrees cooler than our normal temperatures for this time of the year. I'm still watching The Strain.

@Bronze The Honda is available for them to drive, Sadie still refuses to drive anywhere and Chloe’s driving her Lexus (98 with almost 300k) into the ground. When that gives out she can have the Honda, Sadie will never drive enough to warrant having her own car. It’s hanging around as a reliable back up.

kkay, this weather is just stupid. I need to put out some hay for the cows, but it's too muddy to get the tractor and hay to the cows.

I hope you can get them some hay asap. There are flood warnings in so many places in Texas this evening. As I type this, there is more moisture coming in from the Gulf. I wondered if you had livestock a short time ago, I guess you didn't see my post.

Is there a reason why you can't replace Winbloze 10 with 7 on the Surface Pro ?

I think that I would have some driver problems. And I would have to purchase a copy, what I would really like is to try Linux on it. I am reading some about it and it might work.

One Daughter drives a Lexus, and another refuses to drive a Honda ?

Would you interested in adopting a 59 year old son ?

Lol! You did see it’s a 98 Lexus with a ton of miles right?

The other just refuses to drive in general. It terrifies her. She has her license but I really have to push her to drive just around town and she won’t go anywhere alone. I don’t get it. I loved driving at her age.

I read Ready Player One - twice. If you choose that one, let us know what you thought of it.

I found the idea of humans living inside a virtual reality chilling. They were weak, pale, etc. and it brought out their worst impulses. It could happen. It almost has with our device attachments.

but but but.... we already are in the most advanced VR... none of this is real.. its like a Matrix ( ;) ) we are nothing but mere batteries stacked in a huge room...

or even worse... we are nothing but programs in a huge computer reacting with each other.... we arent even real... ( like Sim World) instead of the computer getting viruses, we get them ( in our programming) and we wack out... we are self aware programs... made up of 1's 0's and nulls... ( protons, electrons, and nutrons)

ahhhHell... now Im going to be thinking about this all day.... o_O
