I installed ssd's in my dual boot beast yesterday . Unbelievable the difference it makes . Manjaro KDE boots completely ready to go from pressing enter in 5-7 seconds . Loading an app is instantaneous , it runs at the speed of memory . Winbloze 10 boots completely ready to go in 20 seconds . Loading an app takes 1-2 seconds . No spinning blue circle anymore . Apparently I ordered the correct parts , wonders never cease . :)

It will be great when SSDs become more affordable in the larger sizes.

Retic, what tool did you get for Windows Updates?
If you troubleshoot Winbloze updates it will offer it for download . I'm not in Winbloze right now , I'll check my history later and see what the name is . I didn't bother to shortcut it , I have Winbloze Pro and I deferred my updates for a year after that last episode .

So you must be talking about the System Update Readiness Tool then? I have been using DISM. I usually do a sfc /scannow after every Window updates set. If it shows something then I run DISM. But recently I read that sfc scannow does not always find problems, even if it has them. So I read you should run DISM anyway. Maybe they were wrong, I am not sure about that.

It fixed the issue for me . I don't know if it will for everyone or for different versions of Winbloze 10 or not . The update made some changes to File explorer and Edge that I liked so it was worth taking a shot for me . Set a restore point so you can rollback if needed .

With Windows-blows I doubt they're even "updating anything" just using your approval for them to have a good old poke round your innards and see what you've been up to. I have a lovely middle finger and it's stuck squarely at them:D.

    I’d put them to sleep.

I found a way around the winbloze updates.... put your winbloze HD into another mother board and DONT register it ;)
ever since I transfered the HD to my old puter I havent had any notifications/updates occur...
now Im just waiting to see how long winbloze is going to work before it shuts itself down due to not being registered... o_O
