There comes a time when one must admit that if someone is determined to harm them, they can.

Many years ago the salesman helping me decide on a home security system said, “Let’s face it, if someone is determined to get in, they can and will.” A very unsalesmanlike moment of honesty.

Didn’t make me feel safer, but it’s not an especially safe world. But we’re not alone and we can be strong no matter what comes our way. The biggest challenge is to remain loving and patient. To not become someone who is “unsafe” for others. :)

I can’t get into the magnifying glass but I LoVE the flashlight too.

I’m all about the camera.
I was sorting thru a box of drill bits. There is no way I can read those iddy bitty numbers on those things. I whipped up that magnifier and no problem!

Well, over the weekend I seemed to notice that my AC system (the inside part, not the outdoor part) was sounding like it needed a muffler whenever the air was running. :?:

So first thing today I called my trusty HVAC company (with whom I keep an ESA agreement), and they had two guys out here within a couple of hours. Turns out the blower wheel was going bad; fortunately they had a replacement on hand in the shop, and voila -- new blower in, purring silently along now.

ESA saved me the $85 diagnostic charge plus 15% of the cost for parts/labor, so total damage was limited to $224. And I feel like I actually accomplished something today! :D

The blower wheel or the blower motor? The wheels usually outlast the motor.

This was the actual wheel. I asked what would have happened had I managed to convince myself that the loud jet-engine sound was normal, and just ignored it? They said it would have eventually become very overheated, jammed and would have busted the blower motor -- making it a $725 repair . :)

So this is what I did Sunday. Cleaned up the fire pit area and split firewood from the oak I took down in the Spring. Ready for weenies and s'mores. And when I run out of firewood I have a 100-foot dead poplar just 25 feet from the fire pit that I can take down.
