wellhell... I thought I was going to have a bit of time off from work this morning... but noooo.. they gave me 1 run to which I agreed to because it was going to be a quick in n out run ( and i pays pretty good too :) ) ... once I got downtown they dumped 5 more on me... they pay 2$ a mile for downtown runs... and the runs are like 1-3 miles apart... ummmmm nope, not going to drive, park, pay for a meter ( 75cents min), walk a block or more, get package, walk back, drive to delivery destination, park, pay meter ( again, now we are looking at a total of 1.50$ spent), deliver package... for 2-6$ pay.... I prefer the longer distance runs... drive 60 miles and get paid 100$. 2.5 hrs of work of long distance for 100$ is better than 2.5 hrs of work downtown for 30$.... someone needs to re assess their prices for downtown delivery fees, either they arent charging enuf or there is a huge profit margin the drivers arent seeing.... ( the other companies standard minimum fee for door to door downtown is 30$..... o_O )

Speaking of Winbloze, the thing that irritates me the most is how it rearranges my desktop icons. I've watched the You Tube vids on where to change settings to prevent it but mine still get rearranged. Sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes it doesn't.

be sure to recheck your security settings too... winbloze will reset things to their advantage and allow them "full access".... for some reason ( which I havent found yet) after this last update ( a couple of days ago) my puter is running really slow... especially Youtube... lots of video pausing ( but the audio keeps going).... once I get the new motherboard installed and Mint back up and going strong.... winbloze will be used only when needed ( Xcel, and work related stuff that cant run under Mint).... I guess Microsoft has made enuf money and they dont care about making any more....

Well, after 5 hours a mechanic showed up with a serpentine belt. Then it took him an hour to install it. Add two gallons of coolant from where it boiled over.
But those six hours killed my day. Made it as far as Wytheville, VA before the stupid box on my dash said I have to park. Another night away from home.

with all the technology, why havent automotive manufacturers put some type of sensor that determines if a belt is in place or not??? a simple microswitch near the tensioner pulley would be sufficient, once the pulley is allowed to go to full unloaded position a warning lite could be made to come on... thus saving one a whole lot of trouble.... most cars would loose water pump, alternator, power steering ( and AC).... any of those 3 lost can be a major issue.

Two weeks until vacationing in Florida for a week, yay

Still waiting for wifey to grad from university, getting ready to move to Cincy in January. Gonna start a part-time gig as the lead developer at a local (Cincy) company in February, yay on that, too - but surely stressful days ahead. Selling stuff here, getting stuff, like cars and a place to live, there... :)

@kkay59 : Due to the upcoming trip to FL I'm closely watching nhc.noaa.gov - Willa and Vicente have been around for a while. Vicente is actually a post-tropical cyclone that has been hovering out in the Pacific and has been a major hurricane that did not make landfall. Seems Willa sucked it into its direction and the remains are following it closely now - hope y'all will be alright down there

I miss Robin

Been spending time on the Provari thread trying to come up with battery solutions. Button top batteries are about impossible to find. 18490/18500’s are nearly impossible to find. What are you guys doing?

I went ahead and voted early. I don't want to be involved in any potential madness out there. So I made sure I got my vote in while I could. The lines were long, and that was surprising. I figured I would be beating the crowd later. I guess more people had the same idea.

I got to see my grandsons again today. My daughter brought the boys to see their great grandmother for the first time. Then I went shopping for doggie diapers for the little dog. It said it was good up to 25 pounds on the package. Well, they lied. I need the next size up.

Well, I was wondering what you were doing for batteries but doggie diapers is more interesting...I think.

You asked what we were doing. You didn't say for batteries. The little one started heat number 2. So I had to do something for that. I couldn't afford to get her fixed before the 2nd time popped up, sadly.

I haven't bought batteries in a good while. I have to make do with what I've got on hand.

All you folks with your Windows 10 problems. Sheesh, have you considered a Mac? I know everyone thinks they are expensive, but are they really THAT much more expensive than a PC?

And what is your time and peace of mind worth? The older I get, the more mine is worth. I switched to a Mac about 15 years ago and I'll never have another PC in my house.

You can buy an iMac for as little as $1,100. Or a MacBook Air for as little as $1,000.

A search turned up a few. May not be the brand you want or the place you'd prefer to get them from but you can get them..

I considered it a long time ago. I don't have any spare money. If I go to anything else, it will have to be Linux.

Nope not a fan of Apple....Besides the reason I stay out of the debate is because I haven't had any trouble with Windows in a long time. At least not enough to bother me..:p
