Mornin All...
It's already been in discussion on Manjaro's forum . Manjaro has been working with Fedora which is REHL's free software for desktops . They're working on a new bootloader for linux . REHL is supposed to remain Autonomous from IBM under the agreement but I dam sure don't trust IBM . REHL powers most of the super computers in the world and a large chunk of the internet substructure . IBM can throw a huge monkey wrench in to a lotta things with this . A lot of companies are using REHL to run their servers as well . Thank God Linus Torvalds maintains the patent and still controls the development of the Linux kernel . IBM can't control Linux itself because of that .@Retic,
IBM is making the third-largest tech acquisition ever
Why does this make me cringe? (buying Linux Red Hat) It seems they may not be a fan of free open source products, among other things. Of course they may change their ways, who knows for sure.
IBM's Day of Shame
I'm not following you here , you plan to go to RHEL or Linux in general ? Whatever RHEL does , their code has to remain open source if they continue to use the Linux Kernel . Linus Torvald invented it , owns the patent on it and runs the show and those are his licensing conditions if anyone wants to use it . They have no choice legally . Linus can and will bring the curtain down on them if they violate the licensing agreement . There's also Suse linux another major enterprise linux company that will be more than happy to fill the void if RHEL screws up .Thank you for that information Retic. I have plenty of concerns because that is what I plan to go to in the future. If that is gone, I am not sure what I will do. The times are changing, and not for the better.
Heya army,Good morning Army!![]()
Duly noted and duly prettied up. Thanks, DD!Heya army,
Bronze you hit millennial post on this
I'm so sorry DD. It does not matter how old your P's are. When you lose them it's sad. Yes, he lived a long life but it is still hard to lose a parent. You were blessed to have him for so long. May he rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers are with you.I now officially now don't like the month of October,my dad passed away this morning. He had been going downhill for a couple of weeks now,so it wasn't a surprise,he was almost 94 (December 29) so he had a full long life. RIP dad!
October is a bad month for me too. Dad, Oct. 1. Mom, Oct. 4. Robin, Oct. 6.I now officially don't like the month of October,my dad passed away this morning. He had been going downhill for a couple of weeks now,so it wasn't a surprise,he was almost 94 (December 29) so he had a full long life. So sorry to hear about your dad. I really try to enjoy every minute I still have with mine. Life is fleeting and brief. Much love to you and the family.I now officially don't like the month of October,my dad passed away this morning. He had been going downhill for a couple of weeks now,so it wasn't a surprise,he was almost 94 (December 29) so he had a full long life. Baseball can be quite boring but if you understand the sport and all its strategies it can be the most interesting and enjoyable of all the sports. One of the few sports that doesnt use a clock. The art of pitching is the most fascinating part of the game. What a skill !Speaking of Dads... mine headed back home late last night. We watched the World Series and got pizza. I can count on one hand how many baseball games I’ve ever watched, I asked a lot of questions about the game and he seemed to really enjoy explaining all the strategies to me. His wife enjoys baseball as well so it was a nice way to wind out the visit. I’m actually seriously considering planning a summer vacation with them. Hoping for Newfoundland. Lots of nature for them and peace and quiet for me and the girls.
And when I’m reminded that I just have 1 father and he won’t be around forever, I can really take a step back and be grateful for him.

I could have watched Kelly pitch for days. I was mesmerized. They each had their own style, but I was captivated by his.Baseball can be quite boring but if you understand the sport and all its strategies it can be the most interesting and enjoyable of all the sports. Yep. The greats have their own signatures. Bert Blyleven had one of the best curve balls ever. That was his out pitch. Guys like Greg Maddox threw all kinds of pitches and spotted them perfectly. Bob Gibson was a flamethrower and liked to throw them under your chin and scare the hell out of you. Other guys change speeds all the time so you dont know where to set your dial.I could have watched Kelly pitch for days. I was mesmerized. They each had their own style, but I was captivated by his.
