I did not see where my Nighthawk partitioned ipv4 and IPv6. There was just one setting. I'll have to go back in and see what I missed.

OK, I went back in and see there is some kind of setup screen for IPv6. Mine is disabled. I suppose I need to consider if I want to enable it. They give me 6 billion options and they are all written in Chinese so I have work ahead of me if I want to understand what I am doing. As with all things computer related...nothing is ever simple. ON PURPOSE!!

Grrrrr!

I have TCP/ipv4 set on the router and active. TCP/iPV6 is not set up and is disabled. Any thoughts on activating 6 with appropriate settings? Everything works fine, so, should I go in there and mess stuff up or leave well enough alone? Is there any advantage to having both set up and active?
6 is going to replace 4 at some point , don;t know when that's gonna happen . It won't hurt to enable it but there's no major performance benefits to do it immediately either . 6 is gonna have more capabilities when it's implemented , mainly a lot more addresses for more devices , room for the net to grow to simplify it .

@retic1959 said what I was gonna say. IPv6 is for the future. Right now it isn’t an issue for home networks. The internet is running out of IP addresses. Like what happened with phone numbers when they had to require the area code in order to make a call. IPv6 is not a performance boost at this point.

For example, all those new domains need a unique IP address. IPv6 will allow for more IP’s that can be used.

Depends on if your ISP has IPV6. Mine only has IPV4.

kkay, this rain is crazy. It. Just. Wont. Stop. Day after day after day after day.

When we are supposed to get 1/2 inch, we get 3. When we're supposed to get 1/10th, we get 1.5.

I've got a rain gauge that holds 6 inches. I've lost track of how many times it has filled up and I've dumped it out. We've gotten way more rain here than the official weather station reports for our area.

You noticed that too huh? Yes we are getting more rain than they say we did for sure. It has been going on for over two months. They were spraying like crazy again today. I am dreading the next few days.

I don't have IpV6 enabled, and I don't plan to enable it until I have to.

Pappy we have always had some weather changes here, but nothing like it has been the past few years. Maybe we are getting California's rain. I don't think this is natural at all. February used to be a safe month for rain. If we got any rain, it wasn't much. We got spring rains in February if I remember correctly this year. Then it went to summer with no real spring. Then it went to a very severe drought. Next we should be having fall weather, but it is more like winter. Who knows how long this will last? I was wearing shorts two days ago. Tonight it will be near freezing. We usually get fall rain, but many very nice days too. The fall usually has very beautiful blue skies, and we have not seen hardly any of that this year. I drove by the river today, and it isn't looking good at all.

Now I have to find out if my isp is on IPv6. They are kind of on the leading edge of stuff so it’s possible but I kind of doubt it. Can they be on both at the same time? As I think about it, why would they?
If they support 6 they still have to support 4 since 6 isn't ready for general usage , short answer is yes they can have both .

Good morning.. Pretty quiet week here. I did drink the MLM kool-aid and bought Beachbody on Demand.. It's dark early so running outside Mon-Thurs is out.. And I don't love going to the gym. The dreadmill there faces the wall, no TV. Beachbody on Demand has TONS of different workouts, so I shouldn't get bored.

I bought a used bathroom mirror last night to install vertically in the master bedroom. Thats where I do my workouts, so for lifting form and such.. Plus I've never had a full length mirror. Will pick it up tomorrow. I think it was a pretty good deal. $100 and it's 40x61.5". One tiny flaw smaller than a pencil eraser. Hopefully we can get it here without more, lol..

@LAwaters your hair looks great! I'm growing out my gray/natural. Almost 7 months now. It's a painfully slow process but I'm determined...

We've got snow chances on Monday, high of 33 today. Hope everyone has a great weekend.:)
