welll... considering that the "first" governments were based off of religion... ;)

what better way to control people than to tell them that the wrath of the gods will come down upon you if you dont follow "their" rules...
Many gov'ts still are theocracies.

Where are you getting these photo's from? they are absolutely beautiful
David is our photo guy.

I always bought Craftsman leaf blowers, push mowers, string trimmers, hedgers, chainsaws, etc. Was good stuff at one time. But they have gone to total crapola the last 10 years. Total, unadulterated junk! Bought a Husqvarna leaf blower a few years ago and that thing is far superior than Craftscrap. Know other people with Husqvarna yard equipment and they are loved. I watch a lot of Alaskan shows. They do lots and lots of tree work up there so you see lots of Stihl chainsaws. They just last because they are built well. But I also see they use Husqvarna. You have to have a good chainsaw up there. They use them all the time for cutting trails, cutting thru ice, etc..

Husqvarna. Better than average stuff with a fair price. Not as good as Stihl but better than most others and you don't pay an arm and a leg.
I have a Stihl , it's a good trimmer but I would probably look at a Honda if and when I need another . They're a little bit pricier but I like the idea of not having to have a can of pre-mix for the trimmer and regular gas for the mower . One can for both , non-ethanol of course .

You’re right. The fuel lines could be old and crispy. I replaced lines on my neighbor’s trimmer some years ago and it fixed his problem. But it was obvious. What it boils down to is it could be a number of different things. Fuel lines, primer bulb, spark plug, carb, etc. the decision is do I want to keep spending $5 - $50 each time before I finally fix it or just deep six the 9 year old jalopy I never liked in the first place and replace it with a brand new $200+/- trimmer?

    What would David do? :)

If I didn't really like it in the first place it would be gone... Depending on how much trimming you have there's a lot of to choose from. many for under $100. I'm cheap. My trimmer is a jug of Roundup...

I went through two chainsaws from Lowe's then bought a Stihl, I have not regretted it. It is several years old, always filled with ethanol free gas and Startron additive, I have been happy. We had a huge ice storm here and had downed trees and branches, I ran a Poulan into oblivion then bought another brand but it gave up the ghost too. I was five years periodic work getting that mes cleaned up. It was so massive that I mentally looked at only twenty square feet other wise I would have been overwhelmed. Stilh did right by me.

Yeah, can't beat a Stihl. You have to pay for them but if you want something to last a long while Stihl is the way to go. It's the only choice if you make a living at it. I don't have enough trimming to justify the expense. If I did I would get the Stihl. And yes, Honda makes good crap. Didn't know they made wackers or chainsaws though. My buddy goes thru lawnmowers like I go thru underwear. His wife decides she's gonna buy him another mower. She asks what to get so I picked out a Honda for him. The thing has been a champ so far. First mower he said he ever liked.

They make 4 stroke trimmers , no mixing required . They're not cheap though . I have two mowers with Honda engines , one's a troybilt the others a Honda . The Honda mower is much better made than the troybilt overall even though they have the same engine .

I think most of them make 4-strokes these days.

if Kenner Code wasnt so inane I would have a goat or 2 for weed/grass control :)

I bought a Poulan for 350$ and it paid itself off on the first job and then it totally crappedout... runs for several minutes and dies, wont restart until it cools off completely.. ( and its not the spark plug ;) )

missed out on 3 runs today due to yard/house maintainence... cleaned off the roof, gutters, fixed 3 holes where the raccoons were trying to get in,straightened up the yard a tad...

seems code is on my .... for everything... and come to find out, the property behind and over one was bought for a song ( not even a song and a dance). Some Council member got the property for back due taxes ( something like 4K$) ended up putting a new house on it worth 200K ( now mind you, this is a 90K value area) and ever since the building started is when the code people got harsh... just odd...

Im betting they are thinking that since my home isnt in pristine condition ( its 68 yrs old, built in 1950)... they are going to use the "powers" to do what they can to "improve the selling price"... also, there are 2 other homes close by that are being "targeted" by code... but yet, there is a house several lots down that has been "condemnable" since 2005 ( Katrina damage never repaired) and code hasnt even bothered the owner. makes one go "hmmmmm".. o_O

other than that. its time for a Guinness... tastes better than a pain pill and lasts longer ;)

I've come to know Poulan as junk. I think they make a lot of the Craftsman crap. Craftsman just puts their label on it.
