Storm update for keeping up with the affected group members..

I'm not exactly sure where everyone is.

Western North Carolina has 85,000 without power.

Durham, NC. 6 inches of snow right now. Looking for 12-18 inches of snow there.

Abingdon, VA. has a LOT of snow..

Grundy, VA is a sheet of ice, changing over soon to heavy snow.

I haven't gone out to check the road conditions in my area because my steps are a sheet of ice and so I can't get down them.

No driving anywhere is adviced.. VDOT etc. Saying no driving.

Eastern Kentucky equally affected.

Mount Carmel has 1,000 w/o power.

Trees in the wood aren't snapping, at least I haven't heard any so its holding up well here, if the ice gets too heavy and limbs start snapping we might lose power. A 1 or 2 degree difference can make all the difference right now.

So.. yeah. .. my husband is talking about going to work.. hahaha.

Happy Sunday!

I’m personally enjoying the holiday season. I got all the shopping and shipping and decorating done nice and early and have been able to enjoy meeting up with friends, seeing Christmas shows (heading to a nice concert today at 2pm), seeing light shows, making gingerbread and cookies to give to neighbors.

Life is good here in AZ.

Hope everyone dealing with weather issues stays safe and warm.

Fixed neighbors tractor. Idler arm was corroded to the deck and would not pivot. So blades would not engage. Ripped deck out, fixed idler arm, sharpened blades, power washed deck top n bottom, put new deck belt on. shop probably would have charged him $300.
Dang, I need you for a neighbor!

this global warming thing is starting to sound more like a mini Ice age....
Watch Jim Lee's channel on how to use the Climateviewer. Mike Morales has a show every evening on what is going on. I think Sunday night he gives an extended forecast, by looking at weather data. He shows you, and doesn't just tell you.
WMH News Vault · Weather Modification History
As much as you like science stuff BK, that Climateviewer should be right up your alley. You can look at all kinds of weather related stuff with it.

Nullschool and UW-Madison Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences
plus Ventusky are also great sites as well.

Opinionated, I can't remember which state you live in. It is good to see you posting in here again. Thanks for the update. When it is icy on the roads, I stay home. The only thing that would make me want to drive in that, is an emergency of some sort.

Well... DH is home, our vehicle is slid off the side of the road and they closed shop for the day now..

He said driving on the road was more fun than the roller coasters at Kings Dominion.. hahaha

They are renting tubes out on top of the mountain and people are running around in ATV's all over up there he says..

Hope you all have a great day! Ttyl8r
