Well done! Now you get to enjoy the holidays. I’m so happy for you.

You can see why I am even more thankful for my consistent little French Press. That absence of moving parts and circuitry is a good thing. The screens are looking like they may tear, which makes me sad. It was a gift from J for our first Christmas back in ‘05. I can probably find a new screen to work with it though. The screen is removable.

I make my coffee pretty strong. It’s espresso-like in richness and depth. Life is good.

Totally agree on the lack of circuitry on the French press being a good thing! I think I saw replacement screens for mine on Amazon.. You might check your brand and do a quick search. If not, the coffee gator is what I bought from Amazon.. I actually ordered another one for a friend for Christmas.. $20 is pretty cheap..

Wifey update...
she's still alive, on pain pills, so she wants to do things she isnt supposed to do, as in standing up, walking, putting a weight load on the knee...
never realized that she pees that often, but with her being on Lasix ( diuretic) I suppose its gonna happen ;) and the dog pees way too often too ;)
Im on light sleep mode always listening for that thump ( if she falls) I pop up when I hear a car door shut and listen for a few moments just to make sure it wasnt her.
Ive forgotten how tedious it can be "babysitting" the wifey...
my main worry is her falling and breaking a wrist, if that occurs, then the walker she is using will be useless ( ever try using a walker with one hand?? ;) )
and crutches are out of the question.... ever try balancing a pencil on its point?? thats what she looks like when using them...

its been a ruff weekend...

Try not stressing out too much.. I'm glad she's doing fairly well though, from the sounds of it.

That’s good! You deserve a bit of respite. You are doing all you can to care for her. Her upset is understandable. Even so, guilt trips are not cool. I hope she can stop and just focus on getting her health improved. That will be good for everyone!

LA you are right about that. I have to take care of the twins today. After I told my mother, she immediately said she is starting to get a migraine. She hasn't had a silent migraine in a very long time. It effects her vision. I told her if you are having that then, you better not be getting up until it passes. She will have to push the button to get someone to help with the restroom etc... Then yesterday she was walking with the cane, and my brother walked with her outside. Today she starts physical therapy, finally.

My daughter took some of my clothes to wash, to help me out since I'm going to watch the twins. I washed Mom's clothes and a load of mine. I still have more to do though. My washer broke, so I can't do the clothes at home. I also got Mom some compression socks for her varicose veins, the doctor at the hospital recommended them.

Opinonated, I am so glad your grandson is much better now. That is a relief. The twins are also better, but not well yet. I will be busy with diaper changing for sure. (more than normal) I took my vitamin d and c already, plus a probiotic. It isn't supposed to rain today, but the chances start again tomorrow. At 7:25am the sky was already clouded up with the spraying. So I know more rain is coming for sure.

Tomorrow I plan to at least get something decent for dinner. I doubt if I will do anything beyond that, besides visit with my mother.

Yikes! Thanks for the update. Seems like a near verbatim post from her last surgery! She’s a challenging patient for sure. Are you taking time off from work? Leaving Mrs BK alone would be pretty nerve-wracking.

I think I remember a discussion about the challenge of having enough power to heat the atmosphere for any weather modification. Or something along those lines.

Today, there’s this:
China and Russia perform controversial experiments to modify atmosphere

I didn’t know there was a “battle” among nations over the control of the ionosphere. Reading between the lines, nations are well aware that human life can be severely harmed by this tech. But not to worry. They’d *never* use it like that.

Well I watched the twins, and they took turns being fussy today. I was desperately trying to keep one of the boys from waking the brother.

I talked to my mother twice today. It seems a lot went on, and I will have to play catch up on that tomorrow. I had hoped to have an easy day tomorrow, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

I loved the Smothers Brothers -- I was too young to understand their political stuff, but I loved Tommy's "mom always did like you better" sad-sack schtick.

Kkay, I am keeping you in my prayers. My sister had to do what you are going through with our mom (I lived half a continent away) when she had to go into assisted living. It was extremely emotionally exhausting. :nun:

what amazes me is that the picture of the high power microwave system puts out megawatts of power but yet there are trees and grass still growing just yards away... with that kind of power being radiated, how does stuff still stay alive??? the place should be littered with dead birds and crashed airplanes and smoking vegitation...

and to keep going... microwaves and negatively charged subatomic particles are 2 different things... antennas dont emit subatomic particles, they emit waves ( EMF pulses)

Im guessing that the writer of the article didnt do well in Physics class...

did you know that the average temperature of the ionosphere is a toasty - 121 F? ( yup negative 121 F thats even colder than dry ice) with an air pressure of .0000147 to .000000147 psi ( 14.70X10-6 -- 14.70X 10-8).... dont know if you would explode first or freeze first... maybe you would do both... what a way to go.... ;)

Baby Jackson is sleeping in a crib now and is no longer in an incubator. He is also done with all his antibiotics and they removed his IV's..

They are dialing down the flow on his feeding tube so mom can start feeding him.. :)

It's looking great for him...

Eleanor, you are quite right. It is emotionally exhausting. I feel completely drained, and it is effecting my health. I am dreading today especially. Someone at the rehab evaluated my mother, and told her they think she is low on electrolytes. They will test her for that tomorrow. If they think she is low, they should've checked that day, or today at the latest. It is possible that she was just stressed.

I have to sign legal paperwork today. I already read it, but had questions. I am one of the few who actually reads these types of things. The ones who try to get you to sign don't like that too much.

Well today is the big five niner for me. I am lucky to still be kicking, so I can't complain.
