Fran, how'd it go with Hospice?
Paperwork got signed. Next a social worker will come with more info and another form to sign. After all that is done they will send a nurse. I gather it will be a once a week nurse visit but don't know that for sure til we see the nurse.

Is he hurting or do you have his meds under control now?
Yes,he has quite a bit of pain. He could take more pain meds but he's liking to keep at the least he can do.He'll be talking to the nurse about the pain and options and such. Should be some time next week for the social worker and nurse I'm hoping.

Yeah, those nurses know what they’re doing. They’ll maximize his comfort in pretty quick order.

I got back a few minutes ago from visiting my mother. They just did a flu test on her, and more blood work. They are going to do the testing at the hospital. I should know more about the results, hopefully tomorrow. I think it will be negative for flu. I hope she doesn't have that. She has had a very bad run these past 3 weeks. In a way it seems longer though.

I think Hi voltage electricity is KEWL!! take a look at my Icon picture...
if you look very closely you can see a grey item just under the silver donut on top of the red tube... ummm thats a 5 gallon bucket. so that kinda gives one an idea how big this thing really is..
the red tube is 12"in dia and 5' tall and the silver donut ( toroid) is about 9' off of the ground... and since the arc is curved and is hitting the ground below, that arc is nearly 12' long.
it takes 32,000 V per inch to arc thru air... and considering a 12' arc... 144" X 32KV for about 4.6 million volts ( in Tesla coil applications)
sooo... when your hobby is making arcs like this for fun, the hi power 20+' foot arcs are really awesome :)

and yes that is my Tesla coil made by me :)

this is something I really want to see IRL one day...

You may have told us before but I completely forgot that your avatar was a Tesla arc you made. Amazing!

In case no one’s ever told you... you’re a wee bit crazy. ;)

That is so hilarious it almost made me snort!!!

Can I get that recipe? Been thinking about making a turkey.

I hope it happens early next week. With his pain level being so high, it would be good if they can be there to help sooner. Bronze is right - they are angels and they will know just what to do and how to help.

I don't think he's even used it yet. I told him to use the darn thing and see if he likes it.

That’s hard to grasp! It’s all I can do to clean new gear or read instructions or - heaven forbid - have to wait for something to charge up before I can try it out!

It is a nice little vape. Make sure he knows to fill it, set it upright and wait at least 5 minutes for the coil to saturate. Another tip is to press the fire button and wait a moment before drawing in the vapor. I’ve not been waiting long enough because I’m so used to my instant firing mods. Got a little juice in my mouth a few times before I realized I was doing it wrong. It’s all good now. :)

I hope the results are favorable. She’s been through a lot and so have you. Hang in there!

Everyone must be enjoying their Saturday because..........

    :tumble:

I’ve been in the kitchen. Homemade pizza last night and Chinese Beef Soup with hand-pulled noodles today. Low & slow cooking the beef. Even though I like homemade beef jerky. Yep, still laughing over Mrs BK’s turkey jerky adventure! I did something similar once with haddock. Inedible! Not funny at the time, but it is now.
