Well, that's downright sad. On the other hand, if he's gonna go it may as well be with minimal agony. I can't imagine he wants to endure a lengthy illness when he's miserable. Boy, once that cancer takes hold it can really take over fast. Those Hospice nurses will do everything they can.
He is sleeping a lot. The hospice nurse said he will sleep more and more. Has to do with what jaundice does to your system.

    I added peanuts too. Yum!

We have similar taste. Love brussel sprouts with bacon.

Like Pappy said...he don't want no backtalk from no toothbrush! :)

I ate nearly the whole bag of brussel sprouts! I frequently drizzle fresh lemon juice on them, but skipped that this time. Just let that bacon shine.

I remember when we were all horrified at cars that talked to us and wouldn’t start up unless you had your seatbelt on. We’ve come a long way since then.

and as for your penance... you must eat green beans...

If you’d said red beets, my scene may have looked a lot like this child’s. One difference: NOT ONE SINGLE red beet would pass my lips. I’ve despised them since I was an infant!

On a side note, that little girl needs help. In one way it’s funny. In another it’s disturbing. That’s the kind of shrieking and screaming we hear from the little girl downstairs.

Sometimes I picture these children all grown up and in Congress. Can you imagine what those sessions will be like? They’ll probably make it pay-per-view and consider it high entertainment.

It’s heartbreaking. I can’t imagine how hard this all is for you Fran. I’m glad he’s sleeping a lot rather than actively suffering.

Steered away from talking a lot over the holidays, but Fran, I am so sorry to hear about what you and your husband are going through. I will pray for compassionate caregivers, and for the Lord to be merciful to all of you. And when it all gets to be too much, there are plenty of good people here for you to sound off on.

Well what ever I was coming down with took hold, after I stopped my remedy for just one day. Oh well, you live and learn. I guess I have some type of upper respiratory thing going on. My voice is hoarse too. I told my mother, and she doesn't want me visiting her today.

FranC, that new information is tough to read. My heart goes out to you and your husband. I hate to hear about people suffering like this. It is heartbreaking. Please keep us updated.

Saturday afternoons are for spinning up the old turntable. Purchased in 1979. Still runs like a champ. Nothing like the POP HISS & SKIP of a good old LP.

Dire Straits Live Alchemy. The classics.

Hospice brought a bed in for hubs today. A friend of ours was here and helped the hospice guy put it together. He was grateful for the help. Hubs didn't get up til noon but he's been awake ever since. Trying out his new bed while watching tv now.

So hubs used his bed to watch tv and then insisted on sleeping in his own bed.I worry about him falling he can be so unsteady. He has a walker but insists on using his cane. He fell this morning because he didn't even use his cane. Didn't get hurt but he's giving me fits.

Keeping you in my prayers Fran. This is a really tough road to be on. Lots of deep breaths, prayer, love and patience should get you thru.

Glad he’s got the new bed. Being comfortable is so important.

You should break it out. I’ll bet it still works.

Maybe 10 years ago I went to Radio Shack to buy a new stylus. I was asking about the higher end ones and the guys wanted to know what model my turntable was. When the found out they advised me to sell it. Turns out Technics were highly sought after by DJ’s. Worth money I guess. But I couldn’t bear to think of it being used the way DJ’s do! I’ve treated it too well for that.

I've got an old turntable somewhere, although I have no idea where it wound up after we moved a couple of years ago. I haven't used it in years.

The fuss of cleaning an LP before playing it. Having to flip the album every 15 mins! It’s all part of the ritual I missed. You can’t get those sweet, clear musical tones from compressed digital files. :)
