You should break it out. I’ll bet it still works.

Maybe 10 years ago I went to Radio Shack to buy a new stylus. I was asking about the higher end ones and the guys wanted to know what model my turntable was. When the found out they advised me to sell it. Turns out Technics were highly sought after by DJ’s. Worth money I guess. But I couldn’t bear to think of it being used the way DJ’s do! I’ve treated it too well for that.
I'm sure it works. I have one or two of the needles that I'm sure are worn out but I know I could buy more. I still have a couple hundred vinyl LPs too. And the stereo I had it hooked up to. :)

Good morning! Oddly it’s been raining in San Diego so it makes heading home a bit easier.

I did not buy any clothes so it’s day 3 for my jeans :)

That’s some discipline! I hope your trip has been a good one. We had heavy gray skies and rain here yesterday and all through the night. I don’t know if it extended to AZ. But I’m glad we had some rain here. Safe travels!

Saturday afternoons are for spinning up the old turntable. Purchased in 1979. Still runs like a champ. Nothing like the POP HISS & SKIP of a good old LP.

Dire Straits Live Alchemy. The classics.

I just kept myself too busy for shopping. I had moments of thinking I should try to find a pair of pants, but I really hate shopping so I jist made sure not to spill anything on myself.

Heading out soon, hopefully no rain for the drive home. Sun’s starting to peak so I want to get outta here before we get distracted by the beauty here.

I have a Denon turntable. Since records seemed to go out of style decades ago, I didn't think turntables were worth anything. I have a fair amount of albums too. If I sold my turntable, I would have nothing to play my albums on. My turntable was purchased about ten years after you bought the one you have.

My mother has a stereo furniture piece. It is very long, and on legs. You open the cabinet, and there is the turntable. She got it in the 60's. Sadly, the finish in an area or two is messed up. But it could be fixed. She still has her old stove from the 60's too. They don't make 'em like that anymore. It needs work, but you can still use it. The problem is you can't buy parts for it anymore.

Everything old is new again! :)

Newer artists have been releasing some albums on vinyl for a few years now. Not that I’d want their music. ;)

There was one of those cabinet stereos in every home back in the day! It’s the difference between Owners and Consumers these days. Consumers don’t care when nothing they buy lasts very long.

Safe travels! Again, kudos on making those jeans last. If I determined not to spill anything on myself it’s a sure bet I’d spill something within minutes.

Sunday is a good day for getting it all hooked up and spinning up some classics. As Dusty was fond of saying...

GO!
