Greetings from NYC!!

Had an amazing day today all over Manhattan. My very close long time friend, Jane, escorted us. She lives here and knows where to go and how to get there. Walked the High Line trail (an old above ground subway track that they cleaned up and landscaped and has a great view of the water) all over Chelsea (my favorite area), tons of thrift stores, outdoor antique markets, Union Station, the over to the dreaded Time Square, Rockefeller center, Radio City, then over to Soho for a nice dinner and more shopping. Back at the hotel and the next 2 days are with family in NJ.

Pooped! But happy and in the Chrismas spirit for sure!

April, that sounds like a blast. Have fun!

Christmas music? I only like some of Elvis' like "Blue Christmas" and such like. Maybe The Pretenders "2000 Miles" but I'm kind of a humbug about the music.

I've always loved Christmas and been a dreamer who really believed we could live every day like it was Christmas. I'm long past wanting gifts especially since all the clearing out and simplifying of my life. Spending time with loved ones and a good meal shared in good spirits is my thing.

This year, family is distant in more than miles. But I have good friends, and have J's family being very gererous and welcoming. So all is well. There's lots to look forward to in the New Year. And I live where I've always wanted to be. I experience joy every day. :)

My wreath that kept falling off the front door and the stockings. We let the kids buy and fill the stockings

Oh and that doesn't include my collection of wall decor lol. I generally start the week before Thanksgiving. We take the tree down on new years day and the snowmen come down before Easter. My reason for leaving them so long is this is the only time my house looks cute and decorated and warm lol. I'm not good at buying things to decorate with outside Christmas.

April, the city at this time of year is magical. Favorite memory of mine is skating with the tree decorated in Rockefeller center.

Lori, my favorite gift is our plane tickets to go see the kids/grandkids. Instead of a gift, that is our gift to each other. I pray someday that you will get to that point with your kids. I have to believe it will happen. Hang in there, this first year is the hardest. I'm glad you have loved ones around you

Always, beautiful :) The spirit of Christmas resides in your home :)

I'm still in love with my palm Christmas tree. This year there are quite a few burned out bulbs. Hubby has ordered a bag of replacements. I would rather deal with trying to fix the few lights than to go back to a traditional tree

Will see if I can get pictures later.

theres always 0 nic :)

I've certainly thought about that, but honestly, anything besides oxygen in my lungs, while much less bad than cigarette smoke, must still be bad. Funny I was always the one that when asked why I didn't quit smoking would say "gotta die from something".
