Get your library cards out gang, it's time for a multi-post, of multi-post...

Well, as much as I miss some of the flavors sometimes, it was way too much trouble to quit to start back up again. :)
Good idea, straight O2 is much better for you!

We did use it! I asked for the General's permission first, of course. He stated it so eloquently, and lovely words like that need a broader audience. :)

I agree with Robin - that's not hypocritical at all to vote for HHV! And thank you!

(In case you didn't know, I designed their website and manage it. I write, design and and send their newsletter too.)
And par usual, you did an outstanding job, LA

Oops, typo. I meant 86˚F. But I think y'all knew that...

I always play Christmas music when putting up the tree too. I especially like "Let It Snow" - wouldn't that be something, snow in Bangkok! However, we don't do lights outside - just a few decorations around the living room. The K.I.S.S. theory. Yeah, only two weeks away. Mama says we'll be baking a lot of gifts for the holidays. My HHV order should be coming in around then too.

Well, Floors are mopped. Time for coffee and kitchen duty.
Morning Army!!! :D
Update: When we first got here, I used to kid Mama Chak about decorating the Banana tree. It's just so wrong IMO. Not enough branches etc.

I hear ya on the music Chak! - it drives me nuts when I go shopping and all young things do their rehashes of past Christmas songs - and they sound like blasted dirges. It's meant to be a celebration, not a funeral for goodness sake. My favorites are A Child is Born and Silver Bells.
Oh yeah, the new stuff sucks It's like nobody understands or cares about the meaning behind all the decorations. The miracle of Christmas!

Memories! - Nat King Cole's Christmas album. Love his voice.
Mom & dad had this one too. Classic stuff there.

I already did mine "and a GeeDee-ee in a Pine tree……":D
Still wondering about the hook on the one, Hulamoon .

Evening....... Made it through the week. Time for BEER!.... And pizza of course.

*************
My kind of meal!!! Be right over David!

What kinda pizza did you get?
Discerning folks need to know

Same kind I always get...Pepperoni...
Ah, It'd be Meat Eater's delight for me...

Greetings from NYC!!

Had an amazing day today all over Manhattan. My very close long time friend, Jane, escorted us. She lives here and knows where to go and how to get there. Walked the High Line trail (an old above ground subway track that they cleaned up and landscaped and has a great view of the water) all over Chelsea (my favorite area), tons of thrift stores, outdoor antique markets, Union Station, the over to the dreaded Time Square, Rockefeller center, Radio City, then over to Soho for a nice dinner and more shopping. Back at the hotel and the next 2 days are with family in NJ.

Pooped! But happy and in the Chrismas spirit for sure!
April, That's my home state!!! However, never made it to the Big Apple - How kewl to be there at this time ! Have a blast

April, that sounds like a blast. Have fun!

Christmas music? I only like some of Elvis' like "Blue Christmas" and such like. Maybe The Pretenders "2000 Miles" but I'm kind of a humbug about the music.

I've always loved Christmas and been a dreamer who really believed we could live every day like it was Christmas. I'm long past wanting gifts especially since all the clearing out and simplifying of my life. Spending time with loved ones and a good meal shared in good spirits is my thing.

This year, family is distant in more than miles. But I have good friends, and have J's family being very gererous and welcoming. So all is well. There's lots to look forward to in the New Year. And I live where I've always wanted to be. I experience joy every day. :)
Glad you're with folks who love you,LA. That's what counts - Good company, food and high spirits. When your kids get older they'll come around, I'm sure. :nun:

Morning all

Beautifully put Lori

Great tree, Always!!!
I like keeping our decorations up late too. At New Year's they haven't even collected a new layer of dust!
Oh and that doesn't include my collection of wall decor lol. I generally start the week before Thanksgiving. We take the tree down on new years day and the snowmen come down before Easter. My reason for leaving them so long is this is the only time my house looks cute and decorated and warm lol. I'm not good at buying things to decorate with outside Christmas.

April, the city at this time of year is magical. Favorite memory of mine is skating with the tree decorated in Rockefeller center.

Lori, my favorite gift is our plane tickets to go see the kids/grandkids. Instead of a gift, that is our gift to each other. I pray someday that you will get to that point with your kids. I have to believe it will happen. Hang in there, this first year is the hardest. I'm glad you have loved ones around you

Always, beautiful :) The spirit of Christmas resides in your home :)

I'm still in love with my palm Christmas tree. This year there are quite a few burned out bulbs. Hubby has ordered a bag of replacements. I would rather deal with trying to fix the few lights than to go back to a traditional tree

Will see if I can get pictures later.
See my comment on Banana Christmas trees - IMO it just don't work for me. I'm a die-hard for the carols and gift giving, even though we don't do it now that Tip is grown up. We do send her and my mom $$$$ so they can buy gifts or it as they need. One year my older brother and exchanged cashier's checks for exactly the same amount. That ended gift buying for the brothers and sister.

I've certainly thought about that, but honestly, anything besides oxygen in my lungs, while much less bad than cigarette smoke, must still be bad. Funny I was always the one that when asked why I didn't quit smoking would say "gotta die from something".
Used to say that too, now I say it about beer. :party:LOL

Morning y'all. Puppy kept me up all night as expected. She's pretty smart so I don't think it will take long to get the training down but I'm learning at the same time she is, haven't had a baby pup in at least 15 years. So we are bumbling through it together. She is awful cute so that helps make up for the clean up so far

And here's another multi-post, just to get caught up and save space.

YES! NKC + Andy Williams = Christmas!

In other kitty news, my Maxwell just got officially diagnosed as diabetic. Grrrrr, what is it with me and diabetic kitties? Oh well, I'm GOOD at dealing with it!

Oh yeah! Andy Williams, I'd forgotten about him. Loved watching his shows with the family. :thumb:

Chak is talking to himself again. :)
Had to get in as many as I could before the frying pan came out... o_O There were short goffer runs in between each of those posts. ....! Yes dear, coffee coming right up. ....! oh you wanted chili jam on your toast, not strawberry... ....! etc. etc. LOL

As he put it, it's them or me. Hell, I go for walks in the neighborhood and it seems there is always a dog or two on the loose. Usually the little fluffy ones you can punt into next week if necessary. But if they're big ones it's a bit dicey.
A .357 comes in handy for ornery ones if the pepper spray don't take.

Last puppy we had must have been 15 years ago too. I had just started to get her trained when she got bit (I think) by something poisonous and passed at a 1 ½ years old. She was a pretty, powder grey, ridgeback too.

Eleanor, I am sorry to hear this news. If I had to give my cat a shot, I'd be hurting more than her, that is a fact.

Thai Ridgeback is an ancient landrace of dog
That breed of dog caught my eye too, it has lovely qualities. But they are outrageously expensive.

8 weeks. Couldn't get a crate til today so hopefully that will help sort things out
Always, the crate is a blessing. I have used crates for dogs since about 1990 or so. Don't use it as a punishment. Give them treats in there. Let them think it is a good place to go. I taught my dog to go in mostly willingly. I throw a treat in, and say CRATE! She hops in there and grabs the treat. She comes back out, I do the same thing, over and over. (tiny bites, not big bones or anything) Then when she comes in for a nap, I have a treat waiting for her in there. Just a bite or two. She is still a happy camper. I tell her it is time to get her treat. I always switch up what might be in there too. She doesn't spend much time in there, but she sleeps good in it. She won't let me take a nap, unless she is in her crate. She wants to touch me with her nose, or lick me, if I try to take a nap, and she isn't in her crate.

Speaking of naps, I hope to get a wonderful nap today. I was up most of the night last night, with the terrible weather. The rain was about as expected. We didn't need it, and we are in pretty bad shape. But the wind here, now that got downright scary. It would be still, and then gust like crazy. You could hear it knocking stuff down outside. The cat was scared, and she started growling. She only does that when she thinks things are dangerous. Usually she growls, and then runs for cover. Smart cat! I've never had a cat that growled like a dog before. If you try to take away her live insect play thing that came in, she will growl at you too. Freaky.

So I still can't get over seeing Christmas decorations when there are green leaves on the trees and flowers are blooming! Yesterday we drove about an hour away to Ventura Beach. Finally made it to this ocean - first time this trip. The breeze coming off the water was pretty strong and too cold for me to hang out there long. But it was lovely.

We mainly went to have clam chowder and fried seafood goodies at Andria's. Funky little place right on the marina. Their original fish n chips is angel shark, which freaked me out a little to be eating shark. Better than the other way around though, I s'pose. Not bad, but I'm still glad I ordered the fried clam strips. ;)

Also fun was that we were in our friend's all electric car. It's a Toyota with a Tesla engine. Surprisingly powerful engine there!
