Dang, BK. Between stamps and 400 year old bibles, you may be sitting on a gold mine.
that could be true... but it makes one think about the value of things... sell them to have the cash ( which will eventually be spent and gone) or hold onto the items knowing that youre in possession of rare and valuable items... the only reason I would sell stuff like this is so others can enjoy them, say to a museum to be put on display... but unfortunately, most items get put into a box and stored in the museums basements never to be seen again. It would also "be unfair" if I was to keep the items in a box in my closet "never to be seen again"... and to pass them down to younger family members to hold onto and again pass them on down to the next generations and so forth... seems that eventually someone would not value the items for the historical value but sell them off to go on vacation or something frivolous.
Initially the wifey was going to sell all of the stamps as a "bundled package" to a stamp dealer for 500$... something told me that it shouldnt be done, hold onto them and evaluate what she has... good thing she didnt sell them off... once she started digging around and seeing the value of the stamps, she actually thanked me for "making her not sell"...
