Which Amazon drill you looking at? For $40 diff I'd take my chances. What is their return policy on that drill?

Forty bucks is too much for me to pass over on a drill. I have a couple of Porter Cable power tools and for my needs they have worked well but I am not even a weekend warrior, more like several times of use per year.

Oh I'm thinking about it. Lowe's is $139 and It can be had on Amazon for $98 and change with free shipping. It does make one think..

An exchange would be a hassle, no doubt. I don't get much of anything from Mr Bezos but that is a huge per cent difference. I may have to put principle below thrift and take a look there once in a while.

And just for kicks scroll down this page.. Our Brands

That is amazing, I have so many Black & Decker products. The funny thing is I vowed never to buy another B&D product as long as I lived. In the late 80's, I had one of their cordless drills, the battery died and I couldn't get a replacement. The whole thing was worthless. I said never again but now I find out that at least 80% of the tools I own are from Black & Decker owned companies. Well, I hope you know that you have ruined my day!

Sorry about that. But I've learned over the years that a lot of store brand products are in truth name brand with a different label..

And Craftsman was once about as good as it gets. Not anymore and it is B&D's fault.
I just blame everything on Black & Decker.
It was raining this morning. Black n Deckers fault!

Yes, Craftsman made good quality stuff at one time. I imagine their wrenches are still good but power tools and yard equipment is crapola. I'm done with them. I have some older (like 25 years and older) Craftsman stuff like belt and oscillating sanders and circular saws, etc. that are still working great. Those days are long over.

the only tool I have left working ( from Crappsman) is a 10" tablesaw I bought about 40 yrs ago... real cast iron top ( weighs a ton)... all the new ones are aluminum and warp after 5 cuts...
Ive had sanders, planers, routers, all sorts of handheld cutting tools... and none of them are still alive. Milwalkee and Makita are the survivors so far... would have gotten Hilti but the price was wayy to far out of my budget...
