Frank Robinson has passed away. The greatest Baseball player I ever saw live and in person.
MVP in both leagues. Orioles won four AL pennants and two World Series in his six years in Baltimore (the other two years he was hurt). Annihilated any shortstop/ 2nd baseman trying to turn a double play. Cannon of an arm, would throw himself into the wall to catch a foul ball. Multiple gold gloves, Triple Crown Winner 1966, 1st African American to Manage a Major League Team. Recognized as a team leader everywhere he went. He was 83.

I saw Ted Williams in Kansas City when the Athletics were there. Wow, I had a bat, glove and hard ball all Ted Williams.

Frank had an amazing career. Those early 70's Orioles teams were fantastic too. If not for the Oakland A's, n Pitt Pirates they would have been a dynasty. I can still remember their starting rotation. Palmer, Cuellar, McNally. Back in the days of 4-man rotations.

As do I, I still watched or listened to baseball then - to me it was kind of a magical time.

There’s lies, damned lies... and statistics! (Attributed to Mark Twain - and other guys too.) :)

You’ll want to let that Legend age to 4 weeks at least to get the full blessing of its flavor. Makes a big difference.

I’ve been vaping a 2 month old bottle of Pirate’s Booty that is blowing my mind. It’s been a while and I am a fan of it. This time it’s tasting better than ever.
I bought pirates booty on my last order to try and not sure if I will reorder. It's only been a few weeks, so I'm leaving alone a month or so to see

the idea is to buy an extra bottle or so and let them age "properly"... ;)

I have some DF aging from May 2017... and its incredible!!!
and some July 2016 PB... and some Feb 2016 Temptation... I treat these as I would a bottle of King Louis 14 Cognac ;)
I break out the mechanical and a RDA addy and "splurge" every so often...

these 3 bottles have aged so well that they are opaque ... dark brown, almost like black molasses... :)
Df is my fav, but it's one juice I dont like too old. I love the sweetness in DF and I find it goes away after a few months and becomes much more tobacco forward. I keep my stash in the fridge , which kind of stays a bit fresh, I then take out 30mls at a time to use. The time that I didnt like it was when I kept the entire 100ml bottle out at room temp for over 3 months and it just lost that zing I like. Maybe the heat got to it? So when you say steeped for that long, is it refrigerated? Or steeped at room temp?

Just learned a great trick for sharpening shaving blades! I use those ridiculously expensive 5 blade cartridges for shaving and usually get perhaps a dozen shaves? Never really counted, but somewhere in that neighborhood and then just toss them. These blades are about 5 bucks a pop, so when I seen this hack, I was all ears. Perhaps this is old news and I'm just late to the party, but you can easily sharpen them in a snap and it does really work. Simply run the blades across a pair of Jeans, kind of fast about a dozen times! You can also do this same exact thing on your arm (just make sure you are stroking the blades the right way unless you will cut yourself) you do this on the underside of forearm, which acts like the old leather straps the barbers use to use, or still do. I was just about to toss this blade , so I tried it on the Jeans and arm and its sharp again.....

Wiper blades. Run some real fine sandpaper across the blade a few times and you breathe new life into them.

Leaving it for 2 months wasn't intentional. I needed to do some updated product photography for HHV and the time got away from me. I'm so glad for that happy accident! It was aging at room temp. It mellowed out into pure deliciousness.

Vin Scully was the best.

I always liked Red Smith alot too, but he was more of a print guy.

Red Smith (sportswriter) - Wikipedia

There is a guy I like doing Reds games for I don't know how many years, Marty Brennaman (spelled phonetically not accurately). He retires after this year. Very good announcer and not always a homer.
