TIP-O-THE DAY segment:
The remote control for my surround sound went funky on me a few years ago. Buttons would not work or were lethargic. Bought another one off ebay to replace it. I decided to take the old one completely apart. What a filthy mess it was on the inside. Disgusting! Cleaned the hell out of everything. Contact spray for the electrical stuff, soap n water for everything else. Put it all back together and it works like a champ again.
If you have a sick remote control, it can be fixed. Lemme know if you have the same problem. I subsequently found some vids on it I can shoot you. Not that hard.
Yep, gotta have an 'S'. Life just isn't the same without it.I may have to perform surgery on my favorite keyboard. The "S" key quit working, and compressed air isn't helping it.
You never realize how much you use the "S" key until you don't have one.

Bronze, I watched a couple of videos on this, and it seemed a little complicated. I found a simple fix, and I didn't have to take the button off. I just tried this, and it worked. Actually I did this with the friction at various points on the button, just to make sure that friction worked at taking oxidation off. My radio was working, but the volume knob had lost a good deal of sensitivity. Now it works great, at least for now.Works great on scratchy volume knobs, buttons, and sliders. Worth a try. See if the knob pulls off so you can give it a good shot of cleaner.

My N doesn’t work. I suppose what works for the S can work for the N. I’ll give it a shot tonight.Yep, gotta have an 'S'. Life just isn't the same without it.
and one more thing.... you must have used another keyboard to type the post... the "S" key was working...![]()
The nonworking "S" key is on my keyboard at work. I typed this post from my home computer.
And, yes, I have multiple keyboards available to me at work. But the one that is wonky is a keyboard I bought years ago and it just feels more natural to me than the new ones. Like everything else in this world, the newer keyboards have been cheapened up to disposable status.
Did you know that some of the new keyboards don't have a CAPS LOCK light or indicator on them? Yep, that notification is controlled by software, which doesn't work with Windows 10. It's maddening. A 5 cent LED that's been on keyboards since the beginning of time.

My pod arrived and I haven’t had time to even open the box. It’ll give me something to fiddle with post op![]()
