New Orleans La.
finally... its Wendsday... movie and a dinner with the wifey... errr netflix and chill with order out delivered.. ;)

then a major crash and burn later on... I iz tired...

ohhh yeah... some one decided to have an accident on the "Spillway" bridge part of I-10 west bound (( 9 miles long)) and ALL the traffic was diverted thru LaPlace ( a miserable little town with no traffic flow thru)
got put 2 hrs behind schedule, so my delivery to the airport wont be on the "standard" flight but the next one... it wont get to salt Lake City until 3 am... the guy picking it up WONT be happy about that. o_O

the power of Stupid is incredible... it can cause thousands of people to be put hrs behind on their schedules, one second of bad choice causes thousands of "manhours" wasted....

It would be good to know how accurate that is.

I have a Garmin GPS...as the crow flies, not a street one. I use it for navigating Canadian lakes. A must have.

yup I agree, the street one wouldnt be a good choice in the middle of a lake... it would keep telling you to make a U-Turn... ;)

A few minutes after my last post here yesterday, we had what was most likely straight line winds blow through. Trees down, power out everywhere, homes damaged, cars damaged, roads blocked, flooding and the whole nine yards. I lost power for 28.5 hours. I just got it back a little while ago. If you prayed for us, thank you. I thought it was either a tornado or straight line winds. It was the worst wind I have ever seen at my place. I heard trees cracking and falling, and stuff hitting my house. It was scary. The river is in major flood stage now. We have tonight and two more days of rain they say. When the storm blew through here yesterday, it dumped 2" of rain right then in just a few minutes. (maybe 5-7 minutes or so) It was surreal, that is all I can say. Oh, and one of our major lakes is flooding too.

That sounds very scary! I’m glad you’re ok (so far). Hang in there!

April it was scary. The dogs were barking at all of the noise. The trees were bending in different directions. Several trees behind me fell, and the next road behind me had a few trees go down too. The whole thing was not just a neighborhood, but a huge area. Some people won't be getting power back for a few more days. I was lucky mine came back on this evening. I drove around a little while today to see the damage. It was everywhere. Some places looked like a war zone. On my street there were two trees in the road, and power lines lying down. People were trapped in their damaged homes and couldn't get out. Chainsaws were being used all over to try and clear the roads. Traffic lights were out, and the traffic was backed up all over. A policeman was going by checking on residents in my neighborhood to see if people were okay, even the fire department came by. My street looked like a highway since yesterday from all the rerouted traffic. It will take quite a while to get things cleaned up around here. Hundreds of trees were downed during the storm.

I don’t even know what to say - other than I’m glad you are okay. I will continue praying for you and everyone in your area. Just wow.

Hello everyone!

Super busy here, between Sadies birthday, graduation, family visiting and my own slew of appointments I’ve been busy!

Got my port placed, a wig in case I feel uncomfortable at work with just a scarf, a shorter haircut (we are going in phases), passed all my tests and start chemo Monday.

Missing you all.

It seems early for graduation. Used to be in June. If you posted about needing the chemo, I didn’t see it. I know you were hoping not to need it. You are seeming to remain strong and positive! I’m sure there’s some struggle in there too. But you’re doing well! One step at a time. I’ll bet that haircut looks great on you. Sending hugs and prayers.

Thank you for the prayers LA. There are so many people that have been effected from very similar/worse conditions in several states. Most people have no idea what is going on. I wish I could help some of these people, many of them are poor. Most of them will not be able to recover from this. It is horrific. I was listening to the weather radio, and they talked about all the flooding etc..., telling farmers to move their livestock to higher ground. Many farmers are going to end up having to sell their land to big corporations. What are the odds more GMO food will be planted eventually? Just seeing what happened here, is heart wrenching. People volunteered to bring their chainsaws out, and started cutting trees. Communities are pulling together, but they are weary to say the least.

Fellow cat lovers know this Is how it is. My nightly routine includes topping off the kibble bowls and I do that for my guy who looks just like the one in this pic.
