Just another tragedy in my life

Oh no. I’m so sorry, Fran. Brett is right, and I am one who hurts for you. It has to feel like too much. I am sending you love and I’m praying for comfort for you and strength to get through this.

welllhelll.... the window unit in my room died at 6:33 this morning.... its been feeling really ill for the last few months... ( fan motor bearing was on its way out) the bearing finally gave up and locked solid.
So off to Home Despot to get a new one... decided to upgrade the unit in the kitchen/living room area to 12K BTU ( it was 8K) and move the 8K to my bedroom which was a 5K unit ( the one that died).
So I ended up "upgrading" both rooms with the purchase of one unit... :) Gonna sleep good tonite... nice and quiet and cool.

The 8K that was in the kitchen struggled when ever the wifey would cook with either the stove or oven... I hope the 12K unit can "handle the heat"... ;)
The difficult thing was spending the 500$ for it... but, it does have copper coils on both the condenser and evaporator :) ohhh yea.. it was heavy too...

Did you know that A/C units are heating up the world...
first off, they remove heat from your house and dump it outside, but that kinda doesnt count since the heat outside got into your house...
but heres the other part, the motor ( fan) and compressor create alot of heat when running, therefore dumping even more heat outside.
The power company produces heat making the electricity, the wires going to your house create heat, the wires in your house create heat...
So eventually, getting the heat out of your house creates 2X more heat in the process, and all that extra heat outside wants to work its way back into your house and the AC works even harder o_O
thus creating even more heat :)

lol... there was a sticker on the AC unit about the cost effectiveness of it... said it uses 97$ a year in electricity... they sure didnt test it here in New Orleans to figure up that price....
it should be more like 35$ a month...

$35 a month? Wow! Where I live, this is the only ac that would cost only $35 a month (honestly I think its genius. Just need BK to tell me how you could keep the ice cubes from melting -

Eat Out at Home Saturday. Thought we'd try Olive Garden.
Two appetizer plates, Fried Mozzarella and Spicy Alfredo Chicken.
Mamaw had the Shrimp Scampi w/ salad. I had the Seafood Alfredo w/ salad.
More food than we could possibly eat. I guess I already know what is for lunch tomorrow...

Tuscan Cocoa is the real deal. About as pure as it gets in the chocolate world. great alone and as a mixer.

You need to get a skinz for it. Had this one on my older JAC for two years and it's still in great shape. No peeling. And soooo many designs to choose from.

    That looks great.
I just don't think I would have the patience to place one on good enough to not be ocd about it
