You never know what has peed in used furniture.Surprisingly it can be done, fabric medium, fabric spray paints, or can be reupholstered. The hard/expensive part is dealing with broken down support system

Used furniture. Repurposing old furniture and how we really don't want to repurpose soft furniture as the cushioning may contain not so nice thingsHi Robin! Do I dare go back and read what that comment was about?!![]()

It's kind of like when you move into a new house and wonder about the carpeting. I replace it all. Especially if they had kids and pets. In fact, I sanitize the entire house before I move the stuff in. If anyone pees on my carpet it's gonna be me.Ahh yes, I would have to agree with what the general said in that case. Rip out the cushioning and have it re-done if it's got good bones. Most furniture made these days is disposable, but there's some quality old stuff out there.
DLPs generally speaking are very durable. Very few things can go wrong with them. Yes, the lamp needs to be changed every few years but beyond that they don't have much that goes wrong with them. That said, mine was unusual in that the color wheel went bad. I fixed it and now the wheel went bad again. One option you have with the lamp is you can buy just the bulb and not the entire lamp housing. It saves you some bucks. Still might be worth it for you to go that route Dust. But 50" LEDs are pretty affordable these days too. I tend to be a cheap bastich and would opt to go with a bulb exchange if it can be got for $100 or less (which I think you can on Amazon). Or I might replace it with a new LED and use the DLP in another room. I ended up with a 43" Samsung LED. I didn't get a smart TV. Don't need it. However, it is getting to the point where all TVs will be smart capable. I have a cubby hole above my fireplace and a 43" set is as big as I can fit in there. Truthfully, it is plenty big enough. Overall, Samsung remains a pretty good brand. Not as cheap as some but I think you get the quality with a Samsung that is worth the extra $$.I'm running a 2006 50" DLP too. One lamp around 4 years ago. Cost me $200. I'm weighing options for when the next one dies. If it's still $200, I may get another. Have no clue if anything else goes.. Whatcha get?!
I just saw my receipt for my 42" Samsung DLP. I bought it in November of 2005. It cost me $1,800.I'm running a 2006 50" DLP too. One lamp around 4 years ago. Cost me $200.
