Or better yet, get two puppies. Male and female, but not from the same bloodline.
You'll never run out of canines !
Do I hear three?

Would you write Mrs CMD? I need your help.
Screw that! Just show up with the pup. Do you seriously think she’ll take a look at that little morsel of a bow wow and reject it? Come on, get real! Live a little. Give Mrs CMD a thrill.

And I am sure they will share the doghouse with him.

Ahh, me give Mrs a thrill? T'is the other way around. But, a little black lab pup, she would like to have a bit more freedom and I have to agree. In a way, a small way, I have to agree.

Now, one thing that I have noticed is that retirement has dramatically increased @PapawBrett's post count. He seems far more engaged with us.

More time on my hands. Maybe I can add to the 8,336 already in the last nine years :D

Good afternoon! Gearing up for some Intense overnight fiber and coaxial work for comcast tonight in a crap hole neighborhood.
Had to put my oldest dog down to Saturday morning. It was building for months as she began to lose a bunch of weight, followed by barely eating this week. Took her in Thursday, She was doing better by Friday, and by the time I got there Saturday, things escalated. Bout broke my heart, but after many tests we realized she was in really bad shape. Life goes on I guess, but it's different now after 10 years of daily routines.

Picking up a brand new Provari radius is making my night. Found someone selling them on ebay who happened to be affiliated with the old company and messaged them.. Can't waiT!! It'll never get used, but was always a mod I wanted..
I'm so sorry for your loss PicC. You may want to check the local rescue place, because once you've experienced a pet's soul taking over your entire house, there's a huge void, which another soul needs to fill. My husband and me, we could hardly bear to walk into our apartment because there was such a big empty, and needless to say there are a lot of souls at the "pound" that need saving.

Worked out well for you. How is your boozy-named boy?

It is true they find you. If so, I’m hiding! No more pets! Like Mrs CMD I will need a bit of time and some freedom of movement. We always feel so bad going back and forth to our place in Vegas. Tigg is an old-timer who doesn’t travel well anymore. Song always hated being taken to the car and taken into the house or condo. Everything else about travel, she loved.

My aunt is stressing because my uncle is on the hunt for another dog. They lost their beloved Winston, a basset, three years ago. She’s misses him terribly, but worries about being too old to take on another. My uncle has COPD, needs constant care, and is not reasonable. He doesn’t care what she wants.

If they manage to be approved, she will adore the new fur baby. I’m glad for Mrs CMD that you care about her concerns. My aunt is a good lady and I hate to see her stressing like that.

I have a second dog, but he doesn't even come close to taking over the main dogs role.. He tries and is loved but it's never been the same.. Completely different personalities!
Eventually we will get a second dog again, but i think for now we'll just give the remaining pup our love, as he's getting old as well..
Thank you all for your words ...
    Enjoy y'all's day!

Hmmmm. Just saw a mommy go by pushing her baby in a stroller. She had a dog tagging along on a leash that was attached to the stroller. Has to be one of the smallest dang dogs I ever saw. It barely qualifies as an animal specimen. Mommy is going at an average speed while the dog looks like he's at a full sprint. He needs 10 steps with them tiny little legs for each mommy step. Looks kinda funny. It's probably one of those hyperactive yappy mutts and she's trying to wear him down. Looks like it's working.
