I’m SMH today seeing news about how states are spending settlement money for the opiod crisis. Seems that a tiny percentage is being spent like it’s supposed to be. 85% is required to go toward help and prevention but there’s no oversight. Who knew states could be so underhanded and greedy when there’s big money at stake?!? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While we're ranting, I have one about annoying TV ads. I could go on forever but the one that is currently bugging me to no end is this Colonial Penn ad. The 3 P's. $9.95/mo for life insurance regardless if you're 55 and healthy or 85 hanging on by a thread. The insinuation is anyone can get cheap life insurance and it costs the same no matter how decrepit someone is. Sure, the price is the same ($9.95/mo) but if you're 55 and healthy your beneficiary probably gets $50,000. If you're 85 with one foot in the grave they probably buy you a bouquet of flowers to put next to your coffin at the funeral home.
Iknowright!?! The article I saw even quoted Matt Myers who said (in a moment of rare honesty) “If we don’t do something soon the states will keep the money all to themselves and not give thieves like me my cut!”
I think the only time Life Insurance is a good investment is when you plan to bump someone off.And we know they are lying when their lips are moving.

It’s been cool and rainy here, but I’m happy for the chance to do some baking. I just made some baguettes. Having some with this Belgian butter from our friend. It’s incredibly creamy and has crunchy flakes of salt in it. If you ever get a chance to try some, I highly recommend it.
The butter was from my Keto friend. She had a tiny bit of the bread when it came out of the oven with a nice big slab of the butter.
Not sweet tasting to me, just creamy. And the salt flakes give a “pop” of salty flavor.
Yeah, it’s definitely an indulgence. I wouldn’t buy it unless there was a special occasion. My friend gave it as a gift. It’s pretty freakin awesome, I gotta say.$12 for 8 oz on Amazon.
