do yall use AC's or those evaporative coolers?
where I live the evaporative coolers wont work... humidity is too hi
and.. down here ( Nola) there are only 2 things we have to worry about... a working AC and a leak proof roof... everything else is not an issue ;)

Water is too scarce around here, so maybe evaporative coolers are kinda rare. It's all AC as far as the eye can see. :)

And it's not unusual to see lots of flat roofs. You can do that when it doesn't rain much. Not in PA, and yes, not in NOLA.

so a stuffed drain killed the AC??? probably stuck his finger in the drain hole to fix the issue... ;)
guess its not what one does but what one knows.....

If it happens again, we will need to bring in a plumber. This repair guy suctioned out the excess water and checked the outside drain. If there's a problem in between, we will have to deal with it later. We leave tomorrow. Wish we could stay longer. :(

It's finally 80 degrees in here. And 100 outside at 10pm.

Good Morning Army. Glad Lori has her A/C again. I would melt under that heat.
My sleep hours are so screwed up this week after driving at night. Friday night can't get here soon enough. Forty years ago my anticipation for Friday Night had a different meaning than what it does now. Still, no alarm is an anticipated event.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Flooding's gone, mostly back to normal here.
In the worst hit towns there's still a muddy mess though.
And we might be in for another round of bad weather next week... we'll see where it goes.
Hope it dries up for you soon.

We were very fortunate! Steve from Deke's AC came by. Honest, decent guy whose dad started the business. The main drain had overflowed a bit and triggered the secondary drain safety valve. $85 for a same day service call! So relieved.
$85 is cheap by today's standards. Good deal!

Morning... Called off today so I guess I'll get the grass cut today before the weekend heat gets here.
Been very low humidity here the last couple days. Very unusual so I was thinking of cutting the grass too because the humidity starts coming back tomorrow and 98 by Sunday.

Gonna hit 100 here in the next few days. The heat doesn't scare me near as much as the humidity. That real free index doesn't mean anything to me. I've been outside when it's in the 60's with high humidity and I sweat more than if it is in the 80'/90's with no humidity. Just glad my AC is working. :)

Made it back to LA today in just over 5 hrs with a stop for dinner in there! That's pretty good time. Sad to leave our home in Vegas, but we plan to get back there soon. I have the second procedure on Monday, and travel won't be comfy for a few weeks. It's on my mid-thigh. Sitting might hurt for a bit. It will be an area about the size of a large lemon or a small orange. But I'm not gonna think about that.

Tomorrow we head for Disneyland. Ordinarily you couldn't pay me enough to set foot in any amusement park anywhere. It's our friend's birthday tomorrow and this is what she wants to do. Oh, boy! It will be nearly 40 years since I was last in Disneyland. July 1976 - complete with Bicentennial parade. And I've been informed that I am required to ride Space Mountain. Have I mentioned that I hate despise loathe roller coasters?!? Sigh. I am determined to make it a joyful day no matter what. :)

Either you are up too late, or I am up too early.
Roller Coasters = Scream. Scream your fool head off ! If you sit tense and quiet, the adrenaline rush is too much. Screaming is a 'release', and eases the tension. So, as you start down the first hill, start screaming as loud as you want (but no cursing please, there will be children present).

Good luck on the procedure LA ! I'm the exact opposite when it comes to roller coasters , I love the sensation of speed , like throwing a motorcycle into a curve at speed and feeling the G's when you roll on the throttle at the apex , love it ! :headbang:
