Layoffs are happening on DH's job. He's safe so far, but they can definitely lie to you right up until the day they don't need you.. I'm pretty confident he won't get a layoff tho. He's coming home for a week or 2 at Christmas.
Kids have 1 more full week of college, then I'm back to cooking and cleaning for 4..I kinda like the peace and quiet during the week right now. The boys have jobs lined up tho, and our bonus kid is going to put in apps this weekend.. She has her CNA from vo-tech.
DH found out there is a small ski resort really close to him. We've never done it, but plan to try in Jan or Feb when I visit him again.

I’m so happy you all had a great trip! Nice to have another holiday with DH to look forward to.
While pregnant with my third, we traveled to FL from PA in an Accord. Part of the journey was on the auto train but it was still a long way to go in a fully packed Accord! My older two were 7 & 5, not college boys! I can only imagine how crowded that felt!
Bonus girl chose a good field for finding work. It’s a tough job, but one with a lot of opportunity to be a blessing to others. My oldest got her CNA in vo-tech too & she’s still employed in it at 30 yrs old. Some places offer to help with tuition for nursing school or similar. Well done, bonus girl!

I've been thinking about this and I actually hope we keep a democrat as governor . I prefer gridlock to the excess in stupidity that happens when one party holds all the cards . The less they get done the better as far as I'm concerned . This goes for the Federal level as well , it somewhat lessens the damage the SOB's can do . The more time they waste on partisan bullcrap the better off we are . Less legislation , less stupidity from the vermin .

Now they are forced to govern and put legislation forward that they've bottled up for years. And that means even more spending on crap. Screw the kids, grandkids, and the yet-to-be-born!
The only difference between the two ....... parties is what they spend the money on . Both parties look out for their own interest's and screw us in the process . They're all criminals as far as I'm concerned . We need term limits in the house and senate to get rid of the garbage . There should be no such thing as a career in politics IMO .

Let me add... political parties should be banned. And we should go back to having state houses elect our senators instead of the popular vote. They’ve gone too national and too subservient to lobbyists. Represent your state not your big national donors!

Bonus Girl is 18 now, no longer under our legal guardianship, but this is home. She's going to college, intent on a nursing degree. She goes to college on grants, she doesn't have to claim us or her bio parents (I use the term parent here very loosely).

I better pass on speaking my mind about politics and politicians at the moment. I have plenty of thoughts about it, but I don't want to get an a huge rant, and I could easily do that.
Lots of counties in my state are under a tornado watch. I watched thunderstorms pop up out of nowhere. They are getting worse, with no big temperature differences to account for it. You might see it earlier in the day, but not after 11pm. The line for the most part is narrow, so it shouldn't last long when it does go through.

All I can say about politics is, I miss the old days when you could tie a rock or two on 'em and dump them in the Tiber.
Tornado watch is over. Now we are having a thunderstorm with very heavy rain. Hopefully it will move on out of here fast.
