And I have a backup in the house, because the coffeemaker always quits when you least want to go out to the stores and get another one (like first thing in the morning) :D
Bridget, good luck with the french press. I don't have the patience for it, especially in the morning. When I wake up, I want coffee NOW.

I drink a lot of coffee. We have a Keurig and a Cuisinart coffee maker and use both of them.

I am still up, and it is still raining. I am getting tired though, don't know how long I can tough it out. The rain is not what I'd call heavy, but for some it would be. The ground is pretty saturated, which is not good at all. I will be glad when this mess is behind me. I hear the 14th will be another round of this stuff. I hope it won't be as bad as this one.

In the, "EVERYONE HAS ISSUES" category....

I have Xmas dinner here every year. Five other neighbors and their families. Sent out invites yesterday.

1) "Well, I don't know. So and so passed away last summer and so and so is not feeling well lately so I'm not sure what we're doing. We'll have to get back to you next week". She pulls this crap every year. Always waits till the last second before committing. Meanwhile, the day before Xmas we have to shuffle everything that people are bringing and it's a total pain and pizzes everyone off.

2) "Well, if so and so is going then we're not going". I can never keep up with who is fighting with who around here. It changes weekly but I can always expect at least one person has unfriended someone around here. Then I have to hear why they are fighting with every detail. I don't care! Bomb each other's houses if it makes you feel better.

3) "Well, Carly can't eat this or can't eat that so we'll have to make such and such for her." 14 years old and this brat still has only three things she'll eat. Mac n Cheese made just so, hot dogs with no hint of charring on them. And my bread (which she hoards and leaves none for everyone else).

I've about had it. Tired of dealing with people's issues. Close to telling everyone to forget it. I like peace. I have no time for issues. There is no need for issues. If yuh got issues, deal with them. Don't make your issues my issues. Americans are pansies!

Rant over. Thanks for listening. :)

And that is where I’m at. In fact one of my invites got back to me an hour ago asking who was coming. I went thru the list and said I did not take the time to figure out who was fighting with who and if they want to come fine if not that’s fine too. It is what it is.

Sounds like a bunch of 7th graders.

Well I stayed up until a little after 4am this morning. The creek is overflowing the bank. So far I am okay, but we have more rain expected. Rain chances up until 1am now. I still have a few things bagged up and ready to go if need be. I added a container of dog food to my vehicle. I am not going to try to load the big dog crate, it is huge, and I am just not up for that.

Got the truck picked and back from the store.. Think I'll stay in the rest of the day. I'm still tired anyway...

Speaking of beer. (which we do here frequently:p) I tried a couple bottles if this last week and liked it. Christmas Ale So got a six pack today. About as close as I'm going to get to the holiday spirit. Or maybe it's the only way I'll get in the holiday spirit..:p

Just lol!! I have no trouble spending, thats for sure!:lol::lol:

French press came this morning, after coffee time so I tried it out. Pretty good. @LAwaters thanks for the tips (screen shot on my Mac!) , I will try them tomorrow for sure. I can pick up a cuisinart at Costco next week if I can't deal with the 10 minute wait, but I think I can..:)

I have a very small family, that live in different areas. When we get together, it is almost always peaceful. It used to be a very loud event (when my dad was alive), now it is down to a dull roar. My brother and I are both grandparents now, so any noise usually comes from the grandkids. We don't talk politics on the holidays, but sometimes we speak about current events for a very short while. So that leaves things on an even keel. Most of the family are not up to date on politics or current events anyway. It isn't high on their priority list.

Fixed neighbors tractor. Idler arm was corroded to the deck and would not pivot. So blades would not engage. Ripped deck out, fixed idler arm, sharpened blades, power washed deck top n bottom, put new deck belt on. shop probably would have charged him $300.
