I think that their Student Office is a one time, outright purchase. That is, you aren't paying by the year, and includes Excel. If it isn't too late, you might look it over.
I used WordPerfect back before the GUI. It was fantastic for the control you had in formatting. Customer service was just the best.
If I had my way, I would use DOS. I had WordStar, Lotus 123, and Borland Reflex Database. Everything always worked, a 20Mega, yup Megabyte drive and I liked fooling with config.sys and autoexec.bat files. If you mess up, you shut it down and started over.
As to Student Office, I have gotten used to using Calc, getting old and set in my ways. Plus, back in '07 I bought Office Enterprise edition. I thought I would be set but Microsoft, got me by stopping support. I didn't need their 'support' I just needed the program to work, it quit working and I gave up on MS but for Win, a true love of my digital life.
When I finally quit all work, I'll go Linux exclusively. I have an old machine with it installed. I play with it and am learning - slowly. It is fabulous, speed, rock solid stable and kind of fun. (I tried dual booting what a disaster, Windows screwed every thing so badly that I gave up and did a clean install of Win 10.) WordPerfect and a research program I have to use have me chained to Windows.
