Hey Lori, how are you weathering this heat wave?

Are you back in LV, or are you still in CA?

Thanks for asking, Eleanor. I’m in CA and thinking I need to head to Vegas to cool down a bit! It’s pretty brutal.

Our friend’s place is an old Spanish style farmhouse that had a second story added later. The downstairs stays pretty bearable. She also has a massive AC unit on the roof. Getting by all in all.

It is really cooler in our Vegas condo because it’s more airtight and a lot smaller.

Unless you live in Death Valley, I don't think Las Vegas is really where you want to go to cool off.

Very true. After 4 triple-digit summers in Vegas and my third one here in LA, I can say that the Vegas dry heat is easier to tolerate than the 50-70% humidity of the heat we have here now.

Also, I’d be cooler inside at the Vegas condo. Smaller place, more airtight and better roof insulation. Here there’s no insulation in the roof in our room. There even used to be a skylight in that room! In CA sun!

Hello Army. Mamaw went to WV to see her sister, so I have has peace and quiet this weekend.
Natasha loves the outside, even in the rain. I get tired of calling her and telling her to come in while she sits five feet away and looks at me for being stupid enough to be inside during the rain. And then when I finally get her inside, it's a wrestling match to dry her off with a towel. I will be so glad whenever she finally outgrows this puppy stage !

Hey there HHV Army. Good Morning, Bronze!

I went back a bit looking to see if this topic has been broached here, but this thread moves so fast I am not sure. So I'll just ask; have any of you have had success finding a replacement for your old HHV flavors? I am still a Huntsman guy and have been using it almost exclusively for 8 years looking at a dwindling supply...

Have any of you found a good substitute/transition from Huntsman?

No. Not that I couldn't learn.
Learning is the easy part. The most basic things (like finding nicotine solution) is the hard part these days. Huntsman is a Virginia leaf based extract so that's the direction you want to look. Guessing a local vape shop might be your best bet if you have any. If not, then perhaps see if you can get a hold of some nicotine solution. I'll probe a little for you and report back. The only other ingredients you'd need is PG, VG, and flavoring. The PG and VG is readily available. So is flavoring but it's also the most sensitive to liking (or disliking).

OK, Lion. Someone gave me this list. If you're interested in DIY then you will need to make sure you can get nic solution first before anything else. Contact one of these companies (I recommend Heartland) and be sure they have stock AND can ship it to YOUR location in VA. No idea what all the state laws are so be sure it's a "Go" before proceeding.

If this is viable, then I can get you started on DIY. Get back to me.

Hello Lion. Good to see you. Forgive me if it sounds like I am toting my own horn, but I encourage those of us who love NET flavors to go DIY...

Thoughts on Beginning to Extract Tobacco Flavors

The Milder Side of NET's

Yea, I know, my threads. But I am not the only one posting. @Str8vision has an excellent thread on Heated Ethanol Extraction as well.

Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol

With any extracts, Filtration is the Key ! Once you are ready, maybe try Orlick Golden Slice, Cornell & Deihl Briar Fox or Cornell & Deihl Yorktown (or any other Virginia first pipe tobacco). Some who liked Huntsman spoke of a maple flavor - Cornell and Deihl Autumn Evening or Home & Hearth Vermont Meat Candy come to mind.
A little research is recommended. Or just clean out your inbox so someone could send you a "Conversation"....
