My sailor boy and DIL are driving in from north of Chicago as I post....they'll be here in a couple of hours, God willing with all of the holiday traffic.
Might be MIA or spotty posting for the weekend, but I'm sending prayers and wishes for a GREAT and SAFE holiday weekend!
Soop, I think it would be way cool to have a clean pool for the LD weekend...and please do look into the bird cage?

My sailor boy and DIL are driving in from north of Chicago as I post....they'll be here in a couple of hours, God willing with all of the holiday traffic.

btw.....in 1969 I could get on my bike and me and my friends could be gone until dark and no one ever worried.We didnt have watches so we told time by listening to our transister radios. (All AM) We would wander around collecting glass coke bottles to return for the deposit. And when the ice cream man came around he would sell us 1/2 a popscicle for a nickle. We also used to stand in line every morning when the Helms bakery truck drove down the street for fresh donuts. Most of us had a note from out mothers telling the driver it was okay to sell us a pack of cigarettes to bring home to hear. I was 10yrs old.
It was an entirely different world.......

What a different type of world we live in today.... Today, we can't even let our kids go to the school bus stop without a parent. When kids play out front (and I live on a col-de-sac) there is always at least one parent out there. It's not like I live in a bad area either but now a days.... it doesn't matter where you live... creeps are everywhere!

And everybody has awesome new avatars..where's mine? If I could get the back off my stupid phone to get the card out, I've been dying to post a pic of my little kindergartener out on the ice for her first time. Picture this: it's Vegas, right? 115 outside. She's in shorts with her 'Girl's Rock' tee but she did have a pair or tights on underneath cuz I knew she was gonna fall - and everybody else - the pansies - had on down jackets, ear muffs, scarves, mittens, long johns...and my baby does 2 hours all by herself and she only fell down like three or four times. Had to drag her off the ice. She never once complained about being cold, not one peep when she'd fall down. Just got right back up and kept on going. I was so proud! She reminds me of you guys! Ha ha! I was so nervous watching her though, I was stealth vaping my Janty Stick till it glowed...
But first week of homeschool is over... I am a whipped pup...need the pool boy to do some laundry and dishes and, oh, yeah, the pool! =)

lor...about that wish...we just woke up and there's two inches of water in our house....and I was worried about Dave and Xanax and the East Coast members...waiting on the bed for help to arrive....
