I believe the factories are in Shenzhen, just over the border from SARS, so it's the shipping through Hong Kong that is the problem. The suppliers will have to find another way of shipping.

I don't see re-routing shipping being a huge issue.

I just hope that's the biggest issue at hand for the manufacturers.

The funny thing is that the ban on ECigs, followed shortly after they raised taxes on tobacco Products by about 50%.

Regardless, you can still ship out of several other areas...just not Hong Kong.
agreed. And, coincidences are rarely such and it's yet another reminder as to why to not trust the govt.

Off to place an order with ya for the good news about the export ban thing :)

quote from Pillbox 38
"China is ok, i cannot see China banning them far from it. The issue is getting out of China, one thing with the Chinese though is they will not ship fluid from China itself..It appears their Government dont like this.

Cigs can be fingers crossed shipped from Beijing direct to Manchester. This is using Air freight, shipping takes longer and i have to mess about with customs clearance myself so its a nuisance..But this is what we are working on currently.

USA orders i will bring in through the UK and then Re ship to the States myself..It pushes the cost up as im paying shipping and duties twice. Its either that or dont bother.."

I've been lurking around here for a few weeks and joined last week. A small piece of advice....chill. Chill out peeps, seriously. We might want to add a new thread to the Health forum titled Nicotine, Panic Attacks and You. I would be more worried about a stroke from stress then an analog if some of you don't chill. Get the facts, absorb them and comment. Remember, its just life. The chances are articles like this will come out here and there. The process of exportation is a fickle one. It does not mean governments are in bed together. I have really enjoyed this forum and ALL of you seem very cool, thanks for that, you have been a wealth of information. Stop stressin though. Life is too short.

I don't necessarily disagree with this. However, I think there is some middle ground between ignoring possible issues and running around like chickens with our heads cut off.

The simple truth is that Tropical Bob is right . . . these things can be banned at any point, here and abroad . . . the liquids as well as the devices. Oh, we might win in a court battle on some or all of those points, but in the meanwhile, we're stuck. Contrary to popular belief, governments can pretty much do as they wish.

I personally think it's prudent to stay stocked on extras. When I first started vaping, I figured one or two spare atomizers and a big bottle of juice would be sufficient extras. Now, however, I've rethought that, and I'm looking at a substantially larger stash.

I recognize that not everyone is in the position where they can afford to amass a stash, and I certainly don't want to suggest that we should be stocking up like Y2K. :) On the other hand, I never want to be faced with a situation like Chinese New Year where I was sitting there looking at the sole atomizer I had left for my DSE901, praying for its continued good health.

So, no the sky is not falling, but a little stress might be appopriate. :)

Lol, OutWest . . . I placed a panic order with VaporGuys for DSE901 atomizers this morning. I realized I was down to one spare.

But even though I ordered in panic, truthfully, it was an order I should have placed last week if I had been paying attention to the status of my replacement parts stash.

For me, there is little doubt in my mind that if I lost my e-cigs, I'd be right back with analogs. That is enough to keep me on my toes to make sure that I am well stocked.

i'm an American that has been living in asia for about 10 years.

grand proclamations about banning this-a war on that-etc. should be taken with a grain of salt. (except singapore)

either they never happen, or if they do, it is very short lived.

one china supplier in this thread mentioned his "powerful shipping agent"

which means a shipping guy with a buddy in customs that gets a nice fat envelope of noodle money with every shipment.

there are usually way$ around most laws.

also, i just checked eastmall. he has a ton of new stuff. the lady pipes, usb passthroughs etc. i will soon be making my very first esmoke purchase.

china won't let a few laws get in the way of a sale ;) imho

I'll definitely be placing a follow-up order with Heaven Gifts for 10 or 15 spare 901 atomizers.

I've got 5 en route, as we speak, but I'm waiting 'til they arrive before I order more.

I think this was just a wake-up call to be more vigilant regarding my supply and replacements. It might be a little slower going shipping from China in the coming months, and I think it'll serve me well to think ahead a little better.

Sadly, same is true here. If ecig was taken away, I'd be back to analogs full-time (i'm still smoking 3-4 analogs in the morning). I currently have around 200ml of liquid, two batteries, and two atomizers. So, extra atomizers and batteries should have been ordered before now. Plus, gonna get best friend switched to ecigs, so need some for her as well.

As in most industries $$ talks no matter what. You are able to check eastmall.net?? The site still shows the setup error from the hosting company for me.
