Sorry, yes - it's a bit foggy :)

24mg strength eliquid is 2.4%, 36mg liquid is 3.6%, for example.

But you are correct (IMO) in stating that the flavorings are the biggest area of concern. 20% or more can be flavorings, and we know for a fact that some of them just shouldn't be in there. Apart from the obvious villains like diacetyl, people should be made aware that breathing in substantial amounts of things like capsaicin (chilli), cinnamon and perhaps even clove cannot be considered a safe practice - some people's health will suffer as a result.

You cannot inhale substantial quantities of anything you like without consequence to health - even if it tastes nice.

Good points, and again, thanks!

And I want to add support to this; NASA rated allowable exposure over time for vaporized PG in a space craft atmosphere, because Russian space craft cooling systems use circulated PG, and NASA wanted to know what would be safe exposure levels if a cooling system vented vaporized PG into the atmosphere of a craft docked to a Russian craft. They found no respiratory issues with even extremely high atmospheric levels, up to levels where the atmosphere is supersaturated with PG. NONE. You can literally be immersed in a thick fog of PG for an indefinite period of time, and breathe safely.

They did, however find that PG in those levels would dry up retinal tissues, so they limited allowable exposure to 8 hours.

I would be interested in reading up on this. Could you provide a link or document?
Thanks

PG for inhalation, ingestion and injection has a large, extensive, long term body of research data going back over 70 years.

I do appreciate your enthusiasm but I again feel like this is a bit misleading. I know it is used, but from what I have read there have been no studies involving the levels of PG inhalation e-smokers participate in. It's dangerous to make the 100% safe claim without knowing.

Actually, there have. Studies have been done immersing animal subjects in an atmosphere containing high concentrations of vaporized PG for periods as long as several months. That's inhaling it with every breath 24/7. No respiratory problems, and a 30%decrease in airborn infections. Subsequent studies replicated the results in humna subjects at military barracks and children's hospital wards. They're also referenced in the NASA study above.
