How long after you started vaping did you quit smoking cigarettes?

I quit the stinky sticks last friday when i received the itaste vv. The mistake i made was that the e-juice it came with was awful. I ordered some that day from totally wicked and recieved 10ml bottles the following morning. I'd have been smoking fags if they hadn't arrived as the grand national was on and the beer was flowing that day. I vaped the day away and didn't miss the cigs. For some reason I really dislike the tobbacco flavours that came and instead enjoy to vape the minty / fruity flavours.

First of all, congratulations on making the decision to quit! It's a huge step! With that being said, I didn't totally quit when I started vaping. The only reason I started in the first place was because my brother moved in with us when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, and we were his caregivers. Not wanting to smoke in the house, but not willing to stop altogether, I compromised. It wasn't until after he passed away in september of 2011 and I found out I had colon cancer in November in 2011 that I quit completely. So...I was vaping on and off for four months before I threw the cigs out. Good luck, and just reach for the ecig rather than a cigarette and it'll go by much better. What helps more is if you do not purchase any cigarettes at all, and rely only on your ecigs. That way, you have no choice but to use them. Again, congrats on making the decision and good luck! Happy vaping!

I just got all my stuff today and I'm hoping I can quit by the end of the week. Did anyone else quit fairly easy?

A lot of folks here stopped smoking the day they started vaping. Others, it takes longer. Me, I slowed down on the cigs dramatically the first few days of vaping (from up to 2 packs a day to 3 or so cigs per day) then kind of "drifted down" over time.

Been about five weeks now and I'm not going to try to say I'm completely quit yet. But in the past week or so, I've been going a couple of days between cigarettes. Even though I don't really enjoy the things anymore. In fact, they're pretty awful. Maybe I'm at a place I forget just how bad they are and need reminding?

I refuse to set dates and times and stress myself about it. Seems like it could become counter productive to get worked up about it. Stress is one of the things that drives me to smoke. So if I stress about not smoking, I'll want to smoke. :)

Long as the trend is away from cigs, I just don't worry about it. If I really, really, really want one, I do. Always end up wondering why I bothered. Which I'll take as a good sign...

I was smoking analogue cigarettes as well as disposable 7 eleven ecigs for about a year. A month ago I got the white cloud cirrus 2 kit and I really tried to stop smoking altogether, but still found myself smoking 5+ cigarettes per day. I got my vapor king storm (I think it's the eGo C/T?) with the clearomizers a couple weeks ago, and just last week I found two very good juices boba's bounty/copper creek house blend. And I think I've had 5 cigarettes since then.

I've also noticed i'm starting to like lower nicotine levels (18 which is low for me, fow now) versus 24mg because I can just smoke it more often throughout the day and not get really dehydrated with headaches as much. I'm planning on going to an even lower nicotine strength on my next order.

But I'm still pretty new to the high quality e cigs, so i'm having fun with it. Probably smoking it too much. But it beats cigs, eh.

You're right...I never thought I'd be the type of person to become picky about being around cigarette smoke, but after not being around it for awhile, it's difficult to smell it without feeling physically ill. Now I know what nonsmokers felt like when they were around me...the feeling of knowing I don't smell like a cigarette .... feels sooooo good! With vaping we can satisfy our cravings yet still be healthy and smell good--only one of a million reason to keep trying. :)

I quit as soon as my batteries were charged. I simply couldn't afford any more analogs, and the PV kit was a gift for my 54th birthday. I'd smoked for 41 years. I still love the smell when someone else is smoking near me - kinda gives me a calming thrill, so I'm wondering about WTA - and going up to a smoker with my PV makes for some good conversations!
