No longer than I have to, working my way out of the nicotine habit. Then throw all the crap I've accumulated, (that family members don't want), up for a great package deal for some other intelligent unfortunate addicted soul. There's nothing cool about it, it's just the lesser of two evils. JMHO

Cheers,

I quit analogs for 3 years. Twice. Cold Turkey. (pregnant/nursing)

After each quit; as soon as the babe was done nursing, I craved an analog & gave in.

I pretty much see an e-cig around my house for at least 5 years. Probably a year for me to wean off nic & break the habit. And 4 more years keeping one handy as an alternative to my husbands stinky analogs... Just in Case.

Been around smokers all my life. It's hard to get away from.

... Do you know for a fact that the 'water vapor' isnt going to give you some other sort of sickness in 10 years? You do not.

Well ... I don't know it for a fact ... but this research seems to indicate that inhaled/second hand vapor is benign:

TESTS FOR THE CHRONIC TOXICITY OF PROPYLEXE GLYCOL AND TRIETHYLENE GLYCOL ON MONKEYS AND RATS BY VAPOR INHALATION AND ORAL ADMINISTRATION

" ... The results of these experiments in conjunction with the absence of any observed ill effects in patients exposed to both triethylene glycol and propylene glycol vapors for months at a time, provide assurance that air containing these vapors in amounts up to the saturation point is completely harmless."

And the level of nicotine in exhaled vapor is almost non-existent.

Though I am rapidly approaching my "golden tears" I am confident that I am no longer harming myself or anyone around me with my Go-Go.

I smoked for more years than I care to admit, lets just say ALOT. I tried to quit smoking after I had a quadruple bypass and couldn't. I have been able to quit using e-cigs, which I quite enjoy. I plan on cutting down the nicotine in the juice I vape because of it's effects, but as long as I am enjoying vaping, I will continue to vape and if I can't get to 0 nicotine, I won't beat myself up. Please don't take this as glib, but we all have things that we enjoy that aren't really good for us, vaping may not be "safe", but many of those things aren't safe. If I were still in my 20s or 30s, I might think differently about it, but I'm not, I just really don't need or want the stress of quitting this too. The other thing is that I don't really trust all those studies. First eggs are bad, then they're good, then autism is from getting vaccines, then it isn't, really, who knows what is safe and what isn't?

I started smoking when I was 14, I'm 23 now and am very thankful to have found vaping. I don't know that I will ever completely stop. I also quit cold turkey for 2 years but never once stopped thinking about cigarettes. I am happy that I have something to replace it with, that wont harm my son and that wont have the severe consequences that smoking had. I quit at 18mg nic, and recently went up to 24 mg because I found myself vaping constantly. I think at some point I will taper down the nic, but right now I'm just not ready for that.

I guess I would say that no, I am not planning on quitting vaping. If I taper down to 0 nic and find I don't need to and stop, great, if not then thats fine with me too.

There's also some longer term studies made of workers that work in factories producing PG and VG that came to the same conclusion.

I have no plans to quit vaping.

It's better than the alternative.

Exactly.
I never wanted to quit smoking but it had affected my locomotion
so I knew I had to quit smoking those tasty Kools I so adored.
I can't see any reason to ever stop vaping.
It is the perfect alternative to smoking.

Did the same. I went just about every day for two years during a quite thinking about wanting a cigarette.

I guess why i made this thread is because i see a lot of folks here with a mindset that this whole gig is 'cool'. Really, its just as cool as smoking cigarettes. Would i ever tell someone who never smoked butts to vape flavored nicotine fluid? Absolutely not.

I am greatful that something has come along so i can not smoke analogs and not really have to think about them. Question is, will it stay that way if i remove the PV from the daily routine? We will see.

And to poster above, grow up.

I think you have the wrong impression. Vaping is indeed cool for the hundreds of thousands of us who saw no alternative but dying from lung cancer or emphysema. I refuse to let anyone make me feel bad or weak about my choice to vape. And as far as quitting... I started vaping so I wouldn't have to quit. Now I can enjoy myself and relieve stress without hundreds of carcinogens. They will take away my PV when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

maybe you should grow up, you are the one here insulting members who enjoy vaping. And calling them un-intelligent. If your not happy with vaping maybe you should go elsewhere and quit trying to make yourself sound better than everyone else.

There are some people out there who are just miserable. They always see the glass as half empty.

Then there are those who simply want to feel superior to others by proving they can quit analogs and vapor with no problems. I say good for them. More power to them. But don't judge my choices by the ones you have made. Reminds me a bit of "Trainspotting":

"The downside of coming off junk was I knew I would need to mix with my friends again in a state of full consciousness. It was awful. They reminded me so much of myself, I could hardly bear to look at them. Take Sick Boy, for instance. He came off junk at the same time as me — not because he wanted to, you understand, but just to annoy me. Just to show me how easily he could do it, thereby downgrading my own struggle."
