Interesting.. When I learned to make micro coils for the evods early this year, I followed a youtuber that wound the coil onto the cotton and followed that process.
Anyhow, thanks. I'll check that out. :)
I've never heard of wrapping a micro-coil with wicking material already in it. Well, it depends. People are usually talking about compressed coils when they talk about micro-coils. But, a micro-coil doesn't actually have to be a compressed coil.

Are you talking about compressed or spaced coils?

Well from all I have seen, read, done, you ALWAYS feed the rayon in after the coil is built (same as cotton), got to hear the squeak with rayon. :)
This thread helped on understanding Rayon (long thread), but a lot of information.

That thread is truly daunting!

I just re-wicked with rayon for the first time a few days ago. I was worried it would be hard to get the rayon in since rayon starts out fatter then gets a little thinner. I wasn't sure about being able to fit enough in the coil. But, all went well, and it's been working great!

Well it has been a "Leather Day" :)
A customer Gave me a leather dual recliner couch, and my biker friend across the street Gave me a leather jacket, SO it is a leather DAY. :D

Well, good question. If I'm wrong, by all means-correct me, but I thought the evod coils were micro's. Like I've mentioned, I'm really not into rebuilding at the moment and back when I had the urge to learn, I stopped dead after about 3 of these even though I bought everything to do it. Also, this is when I first started getting into evods after a long bout with cartos. I got hold of a youtube video from a friend on here and I followed this and it actually does work but, I just didn't want to take the time to do it (lazy vaper). It's actually pretty easy. You may like this even though it is a little outdated. Here is the video...

Edited to add: Instead, I used cotton to do these and if I were to start again, I would use my cellucotton (rayon).

That's a regular spaced coil.

When micro-coils were first being discussed, they were pretty much all compressed coils. A lot of people still call all compressed coils micro-coils.

I can't seem to find the specific numbers at the moment. But, micro-coils and nano-coils are coils within certain ranges of inner diameters.

Compressed coils are coils that are touching. Usually heat is applied after the coil is wrapped and then the coil is squeezed with tweezers while it's hot to get the coil to stay compressed/touching. Then the wick is added afterward.

Regular old-fashioned coils were wrapped around the wick, sometimes with a straight pin or paperclip to keep it straight while wrapping. The coil wraps do not touch each other.

I have seen the video by Vapor Lady, good video on how to build coils with silica. With silica you have to wrap the wire around it when making the coil, otherwise you would not be able to get the wick in it. With cotton or rayon most use a drill bit the size they want the coil to turn out, then insert the wick after it is installed and dry burned. There is no right or wrong way to do it, as long as it works for You, is all that counts.

As always, thanks for the info, both of you. :)

Still waiting patiently for the Vamo. The P.O. is treating it like a ping pong ball. It just keeps being handed off from town to town. No idea what they're doing this time. It is finally very close and I figure I should get it within the next day or so. It's funny because I thought, this is the longest I've waited for a piece of mail in my entire life!

I got the replacement Vamo V5 today and this one is worse than the one before. Like I said before, the V2 that I have is hands down - awesome! Apparently I came to the conclusion that this is a knock off of the V5. This cannot be an original, because there are too many flaws. I am not belly aching. I just want to put it out there that this is not a genuine Vamo. I've gone into the Vamo thread and the people over there are saying that you have to purchase the KSD in which is apparently the genuine brand. Well you live and learn and this is why we have ECF. :)
Hey, I'm not happy with either of them, but they actually function. Hopefully-just maybe in the near future I can just give them to someone who wants to change their entire life and quit smoking and I will just hand them out :) I'll keep them in my cupboard for a while and see what happens.
Well, I haven't seen a copy of the Hybris lately.... I wouldn't want it because I can deal with a crooked screen. All I have to do is get a new pair of glasses or a pill for Ocd.

Really sorry you are having problems, wish I could wave my magic wand and fix them. :(
For some reason the Hybris is not that popular, like the I-Stick, so I am not seeing it copied.
Here is a vamo I am looking at, I like the wood look,

IMRs, I forgot where you said you got your Vamo V5. Is there any way you can just return it to get your money back? Or, maybe they'll let you exchange it for a V2. It's surprising how many people seem happy with their V2s.

If I were to get a Vamo, these are my top contenders:
I would really like to get another Hybris. The last sale ended about 6 hours before my paycheck was deposited in my account.

I'm really trying to control my spending and keep a little money aside for Black Friday/Cyber Monday right now. But, real life keeps getting in the way. I tend to wear the same clothes until they're falling apart. Well, they're starting to fall apart again. It's time to buy more. Maybe a thrift store? I'm not really all that picky.

That way I can still save for the important stuff, like vape supplies!

I received 3 Vamo v5's overall and obviously all have issues. One was sent back because of the switch that I did mention and they told me to keep the 2nd replacement (the one with the stuttering), and the replacement I just received also stutters and all of the switches are just dangling there. Very poor workmanship on all. I wouldn't put my name on them. They're from focalecig. I don't blame the quality on focal, but in my opinion, they should just pull those off the shelf.
I bought my V2 at a neighborhood b&m store September of 2013 and is still like new and built to fall off of a sky scraper (this is the one that I wrapped with the US flag). I am not going to send the v5's back for a refund because I've been dealing with this since June and I think it's about time to move on.
Because I like my V2 so much, I would consider getting another, but I would definitely do the research to see if it's genuine. The wooden one looks like it could be, but looks are deceiving. The people over at the Vamo thread seem to know their stuff, so I'd check with them first. Considering the price on the wooden one, it may very well be a good one.

DH, sorry you couldn't get another Hybris this time around. I'm sure you'll get another chance at that deal. It seems they have been putting up that 25% deal a lot, so I'm sure it will come around again. :)

For anyone that's interested in Cellucotton Rayon wick, there's a nice deal on ebay...
25ft 100 Rayon Cellucotton Best Wicking Flavor Wick Vapes Better Than Cotton | eBay

Well they are making good money. The 44043 (3lb) is 900 feet which is a little over $20 if you look around. So 36 units (900/25) x $5 = $180

Or here it is all 900 feet for $38.24
New Graham Cellucotton Beauty Coil 44043 3 lb Box | eBay
Which would be a Lifetime Supply:facepalm:

Graham Cellucotton Box Numbers:
44060 (500 ft)

44040 (1200 ft)

Quite true. And, it's only $15 or $18 for 3 lbs at Sally's. But, it's still tempting to have a couple of years worth without having to find a place to store that big box.

I'm really, really hoping we get into a house by some time in February. Then storing a big box of 44043 or a gallon of PG and VG will no longer be a problem. It's so crowded here in this 2 bedroom apartment with 5 of us!

Ooooh, shiny! Let us know how well it works and how it is to build on. Pictures of the build deck would be a nice touch too while you're at it. The website didn't have any good pictures of it.

I'm not demanding . . . . . much. :p

Real easy to put coils on, at least for me. Hits really hard on my Stingray. Here is a post from Drifter of a coil build he did.

I used pre-built coils I got from FT, smaller wire and 2.4Ω each, so with a dual coil it is 1.2Ω, then wicked with Rayon.

I really like the design. I really like bottom airflow. Now, I want one.

Brought the link forward to save for myself: $19.70 (Ship from USA)1:1 Lancia Style Atomizer by Acesmok. I guess it's time to stop being a Focalcig virgin. Any tips for ordering from them?

A man after my own heart. It's refreshing to hear someone with a net 1.2Ω instead of combining two 1.2Ω to make .6Ω.

Really see no need to do a .6Ω build. If I was to wrap my own instead of the prebuilts I would go even higher.

They must have sold out and have another shipment coming, says "Available on Nov. 4th"

On the ordering, check out Nikki's blog post,
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/nikkita6/6124-focalecig-com-member-guide-shopping.html
explains the order process. BTW you can't use coupon codes if it ships from the USA. Also the price is $20 and $2 shipping/tracking for a total of $22. Mine shipped Tuesday, got it Saturday, but several I know who ordered same time as me, got theirs on Friday.
