I want to emphasize the responses given above regarding short answers. Do not volunteer more information than necessary. Do not make apologies for anyone and do not mention the FDA. Remember, in our opinion the FDA should not control the marketplace. The market itself is self regulating and does not require intervention.
Good luck and enjoy the fantastic opportunity.

I have read your posts too and you are very well spoken, you will do fine.

As mentioned before, dont bring any "health" information into it at all. You should, however, feel free to say how much better you feel since you dont use cigarettes any longer. If you keep the information about you they cannot dispute that fact.

Smile, lots of smiles, look happy about your newfound freedom!!!! Good luck, best wishes and way to go!!

I will not promote this as a cesassion product but as an healthyer alternative to smoking analogs.

Thank you everyone for your support.
Dan

I would also leave out the "healthier" part, as no studies have been done to the liking of the FDA that supports that claim. Maybe just mention as "an alternative to smoking cigarettes".

Although we believe they are 4000 times safer than an analog, the TV station would probably edit out the "healthier" statement anyway.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll do fine... just concentrate on what they have done for you, instead of trying to promote them.

A further suggestion to back up Illustrated's suggestion is arm yourself with a print out of others who do have the answers to those types of questions.

Dr. Siegel - The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary
Dr. Nitzkin -

Even David Sweanor

What is important about the above is they are all anti-smoking advocates who are also ecig advocates.

Exponent - The company who did a review of the FDA "report". Exponent
The ECA - Electronic Cigarette Association You can find many of the quotes from the above doctors available in the quotes section of the ECA website.

If this is a good journalistic piece, they will look into at least one of the above. :)

If I were being interviewed I would hope to be able to bring up this point:
The big concern seems to be that "not enough is known about e-cigs to make a determination." Yet, nobody seems interested in learning about them. They just want to dogmatically slam the door on a potentially life saving revolutionary breakthrough.
How come?

Good point, if possible I will wiggle that in :)

Be as professional as possible, as honest as possible, don't stutter or "um, er, ah" around, don't say anything that you don't know as a fact, and please for the love of God don't say anything like "EFF THE FDA!" ;)

LOL, of all the statements that would make it on, it would be that one!
Good points everyone.

So… I cannot make a parody between a Hoover vacuum cleaner and the FDA?
Bad fo paux? :D LOL

I will review all advice and work on a mindset that is focused on my achievements and anything outside of that is my opinion alone, as I am not a doctor, chemist, analyst just one of thousands that want our voice heard.

I will be watching this through out the day and night.
Thanks everyone!

I have thought about this for a while... If someone were to ask me about my experience with PV's I would answer like this:

You know, it is really interesting. I started using them because they intrigued me. I never intended to quit smoking, but after using them for a short while, I found that I preferred them to cigarettes. The result for me is I gave up cigarettes altogether and only use my personal vaporizor now. I know I feel better than I did when I was smoking and my clothes and hair don't smell like cigarettes anymore as these have almost no odor. I am glad I have the choice right now to use my personal vaporizor and I sincerely hope no one is going to take that choice away from me because without it, I know I would end up back on cigarettes like I did the last 6 times I quit.

Feel free to use any of this you want...that's my story...lol.

Yes, especially if you don't know the angle that they are going for as far as good versus bad goes, you will want to be very very careful since we all know that sometimes the media can take things waaaaay out of context.

I really hope that this is a pro-PV show! But you are a very well spoken man, as others have mentioned, so I am sure that you will do fine. Do your research for sure though since if you trip and and say "I don't know" they may take off with that like a bat out of hell!

I just wanted to chime in and second the caution of "health(ier)" claims.

So non-smokers can relate, you could try a version of this analogy I sent to a local newspaper reporter:

"Imagine if someone invented an auto fuel that was 100% renewable, gave your car better performance, lengthened the life of your engine, had little or no emissions and was 50% cheaper than gas. But the government banned it, because testing of 19 cars (out of millions) indicatred it still had trace amounts of pollutants and they claim the enhanced performance would cause teenagers to drive recklessly. Wouldn't you be be perplexed and outraged that you were being denied this amazing, alternative fuel? That is how we feel about the controversy over electric cigarettes."

That is, if the banning, etc even comes up.

Best thing I have read up here in awhile. Bravo!
