Lu...Which model did you get? .... 3.7volt or 6volt? I am glad it worked out for you. How is the build of the LightVaper? Is it built to last? Do you use carts or are you strictly dripping with the light vaper?

On to another point.....you turned me on to the VK, how come your selling it off?...The only weak point that I see so far is the battery life. I would wait and see if Ted can make his LV work with the VK. With the right equipment he could make the it work with VK carts in two minutes (see my post above). With the power of the LightVaper the VK carts could vape much better...just like the 901 ats vape better with it.

Ed, I got the 801LV long....3.7volt...2400mah. It's a beast! The battery is huge....and a bit heavy but when in the device, it doesn't feel heavy at all. And I would definitely say it was built to last. Really sturdy. I only use carts....no dripping yet...but that's what I do with all my devices because I vape so heavily, it's too much to keep dripping every couple of drops. Topping off lasts longer for me.

As far as the VK, I won't say it's a bad product, rather just not for me. For one....the carts only go to 24mg, and I use 36. I was topping it off too but honestly, that became a drag for me. And the batts would be dying by the end of the day even though I alternated between 2 or them and my pipes. Too much maintenance for me. Funny thing is...I had tried it with the hopes of it being a device I could easily carry when going out for a few hours....but with the topping off and battery life, it wasn't working out that way.

The thing is, even if Ted could mod to the VK carts, I still wouldn't use it because for me, those carts needed a lot more topping off than my other devices. I don't know if they are smaller...or just not as absorbent...or what, but I was only getting a few drags off them before I had to top off again and that was just too much for me.

Seems most VK users love theirs (including Steve) and he is a heavy vaper but I guess the disposable just isn't the way for me.

When I first got my Mini Pipe....I just knew it worked for me....so I did a review right away. This is how I feel about the LV too. On the other hand, when I got my SD, I didn't do a review of it because it just didn't feel "comfortable" to me....I ended up selling it. Same with the Dura-C.....and now the VK. There was just something about them that I felt I needed to give it some time to see how it went....and they didn't end up being "my thing". But with both the pipe and the LV, I don't feel that way at all. They just "felt good" from the get go....if you know what I mean.

As a matter of fact, I am going to give it a few more days of testing and if it is still working out well for me, I'm going to do a review between the LV and the SD. So keep an eye out! :p

I bought 2 of the 801 LightVaper from Ted,

they are the smoking beast that Lu says they are.

They are superb craftsmanship,
and easy to use.

I too use cartridges with mine,
I have never dripped,
I do not need to,
I get consistantly 80 - 100 good
2 second drags from my carts.
draw slowly -- 1 mississippi - 2 mississippi - inhale.....

with the LightVaper from Ted,
I have an excellent e-cig which I can smoke easily and comfortably for 5 - 6 hours before changing batteries.
I have the 18650 2400mah batteries.

well done Ted, a truly invaluable member here for all of us.

Good grief! How do you do it? I need a 5-7 second draw on any device I use. In fact, to defeat the evil auto-cutoff on batteries, I often draw for four or five seconds, pause, and draw again.

Lu...I know what you mean to have a device that just works for you. I still haven't found mine. I love the minipipe but only with its original atos...and they only last a couple of days for me. The 401s work great.... long ato life...but I have to drip with those...which can be a real pain. No 801 has worked well for me....I have to constantly top off. VK have short battery life and I am not sure I have figured out the best way to refill the carts...since they vape much better when using a fresh cart.

I might just have to buy a mod...most likely a 901 mod. I am going to see if anyone can make 901 mod that is also compatible with a VK cartomizer. I am am also waiting for your review of the SD vs the LV.

EDO,, so I have a very similair experience w/ my cig chase.
I started w/ the SE then 901's then 801's which frankly I do not get, at all,
minipipes cigars and all the others. I like the VK and VP and love all my mods many
But, all in all and I just this sec, realized that the 510 manual is a constant good, always reliable product, Not to say you should not look at mods, you should, but do not overlook the 510 manual
widowsbeadwork.com she is good and fair in the pricing, always

Cosican...thanks for the suggestion....the 510 is on my list of ecigs to buy...so is the lightvaper ...I have contacted Ted to see if he is interested in making them compatible with VK carts as well.

Did you read the my reply to renting mods? I think it could work...the modder will charge full price for the device... the renter will use it for a set period of time (lets say ten days)... if he likes it he keeps the device if not he will send it back to the modder. Once the modder recieves the returned device ....he will give the money back to the renter minus a $20 rental fee. What do you think?

Just and FYI is anyone has tried to contact Ted, I just got an email from him yesterday. He had a death in the family so he is dealing with that. He said he would contact anyone who has inquired to him recently when he gets his stock going again...............

I'm sure we all wish Ted the best................

OK, this one must be for either:

a. hardcore nicotine junkies, or
b. those who are lucky to have a local gym equipped with mouth exercise equipment :D

No, serious. I joined this site very enthusiastic about ecigs, but after reading hundreds of posts, reviews and comments, I am more skeptical than ever.

1. Many heavy smokers claim that they were able to switch to ecigs (only) after some 20-30 years of smoking

2. Many reviews point to the very shoddy technology, poor battery life, poor parts and maintenance hassle (ordering parts, juice)

3. Several, who seem to be in minority, claim that ecigs are not ready for prime time, and that vapping is NOT an adequate substitute for the real deal. Yes, they may be in minority, but judging from many other issues in the society, minority sometimes seem to be right on the money, as opposed to the prevailing opinions of the vocal majority.

So, are ecigs a real deal, or there has to be some major breakthrough in the technology itself that would provide a fill'n'go type of device, without the hassle of constantly having to order atzz, batteries, and other stuff that lasts for a pathetically short period of time? The mod discussed in this post, no matter how great it might be for the hardcore vappers, just seems to prove my point.

GasperX,

I had to agree with you until Jan. 5, 2011. I'm 54, have, or had, smoked for 41 years. Just couldn't quit. I needed the real deal as well. By the way, this is the first time ever for a forum. That says something to me. Anyway, on that day I received a starter kit from XXXX and several cartomizers. You know, the fill and go kind. Also got a bottle of juice to top off.
Unbelievable to me I have not a single cigarette since. Got so excited that I have ordered a .... load of 100mg nicotine juice am now playing flavorist and mixing. Will probably try a different style or 2 going forward.
Don't know if it's BS or not, time will tell.
