I can't understand why there's a stigma attached to owning a ProVari (or not). It all depends on the owner. Some are cocky, some are not. It's just a device. I took down my signature banner's list of batteries and devices a while ago. It's no longer a ...... contest for me. It's a phase we all go through, but eventually, it's all just "meh". I just can't be bothered these days with forum drama. I guess it's just me gettin' old.

I went all prothingy nuts when I got it but now i could care less it does what I need it to do. I don't recommend it to new comers I steer them to spinners or twists.

Now for this thread to really come full circle we have to insult your dog. Do you have a dog?

Well, there you go. If you had a dog you wouldn't be bothered with cats. With a dog you don't need to know about Ohm's law or math, you just tell them to sit and forget about it.

Omg I just got that as a vv vs vw in my head am I that far down the vape rabbit hole??

Is that rubbing alcohol??

Mostlyclassic's post--edited: :D

  • BOOZE ALCOHOL: This is ethanol for drinking: vodka, Everclear or moonshine. Flavored or colored boozes will lend "interesting" flavors to whatever device we're cleaning. All, except the moonshine, involve paying heavy federal and state taxes.
  • ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL: Chemically, this is a different kind of alcohol that is poisonous to drink straight out of the bottle. But, if it's labelled "USP," it's safe for cleaning anything we'd insert in our mouths (drip-tips, attys, cartos, the relevant parts of Vivi Novas, Stardusts, RBAs, etc.) provided you let whatever you cleaned with it dry thoroughly!! The 91% concentration will kill anything that lives on God's green earth. It's also dirt cheap compared with booze alcohols (again, excepting moonshine).
  • RUBBING or DENATURED ALCOHOL: Chemically, rubbing denatured alcohol is ethanol (i.e., booze alcohol) that's been denatured (which is a fancy word for "poisoned") so you can't drink it and thereby cheat the taxmen. Sometimes, it's only denatured with methanol, but many states require the addition of non-volatile poisons. Methanol will evaporate, but any other poisons added won't. Word to the wise: don't use rubbing alcohol!

The term "rubbing alcohol" has become a general non-specific term for either isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) or ethyl alcohol (ethanol) rubbing-alcohol products.

O/T (ha ha)

Reply from FT after they inquired about my order satisfaction and I told them about the Big Novas I "fixed:"
Hi Michelle,

Sorry about the issue.

How about we we offer you a 40% discount for SKU 1319600 and SKU 1319602 together and you keep them to avoid the hassle of shipping back and forth for both of us?

If you are not happy with this, we can work something out again.

Please feel free to write us whenever you have questions. We're always here to help.

No, Isopropyl alcohol is not rubbing alcohol!

I'm not sure where mostlyclassics got that info, but denatured alcohol is not rubbing alcohol. I use denatured alcohol to preserve specimens and you definitely don't want to rub it on anything (I wear glove & goggles). The "rubbing alcohol" you get at the drug store is diluted Isopropyl, I have a bottle of 91% in front of me.;
