Frantically going back through pages. Obviously I missed something.

On another note I am REALLY starting to hate vivi novas. I am constantly having to clean juice of my battery contacts. :(

There's only a few places they can leak.

1) Check tank o-rings and that the bottom/top of plastic tank is smooth. Sand it if not. It should mate flush with top/bottom.
2) Leaking into wicks and down center tube. You have to have the wicks...um..filling the gap in the post properly. Also check that the little silicone "top" with the metal washer in it that goes between the head and the top....make sure the washer is seated properly with the flat side DOWN toward the coil.
3) You could check for leaks at center post/bottom too, but I doubt that's it.

LOL! Anyone remember the Alta Vista search engine? It was essentially the first to successfully index the web at the time. A series of bad management decisions ultimately led to it's demise sadly ... :(

I loved Alta Vista! I used to play a game on a site called "One Hit Wonders." If you remember, Alta Vita would show a number next to the word(s) you searched on revealing the number of pages that word had appeared in. The game was to come up with two words that only appeared on one page together, and then there was a formula (that I don't remember) that took the number of pages each word appeared on by itself vs the one page they appeared together. I actually got some very high scores (although never won). I remember one was with "Jesus Shoetree."

That can't be directed at you my darling, you never make snarky comments.

Very kind of you to say, but I believe it was I whipping up the CatChi Ranters to go poke a stick at a chemically impaired, recreationally self-medicated, easy target. Candidly, I am guilty of encouraging our brethren to fire projectile weapons at gill-bearing aquatic craniate animals detained in cylindrical enclosures.

It is definitely leaking down through the connector not the tank itself. I will try rebuilding it with a thicker wick and see if that does any good.

Sigh

Hi Myrany,

I used to use Vivi Novas and minis almost exclusively, then I discovered the Vapeonly Mega and the Protank.

The Vivis are a fine balance between running dry and flooding. I found most bought heads didn't wick that well and did all the usual tricks -notching the top cap to take some pressure off the wick, constant tilt and twirl etc. Then I discovered that a *really* soft 3mm wick that I made myself worked very well with no extra flavour wick. The fibres in this wick were so fine that they were almost invisible in the liquid. In the Vivi Nova minis it was even better because the wick would puff out in the liquid and fill the space between the tank and the centre column, greatly assisting the surface tension and the upwards wicking. Tilt and twirl was almost eliminated except for the very last little bit in the tank.

It was still pot luck though, I'd be cleaning juice off the contacts several times a day even when it didn't obviously flood. It seems that as soon as you get the Vivis wicking well, you put it down for half an hour the coil overloads and you get that one big drop go down the centre tube to sit on the post.

Interestingly, the bottom coil devices mentioned still flood, however they never seem to drop it on the battery, they just get gurgly and don't produce as much vapour, and you have to blow them out. I now clean the connector maybe once per day, and I think that is mostly condensation.

Good luck with the 3mm wick. I believe you are on the right track but don't be surprised if it doesn't completely eliminate the problem.

Jeez. I get home from a busy day at work and I see the cops had to stop by our house...

I can't leave you guys unattended for a minute. What did you do to piss Cardi off? She is the only one who has not drawn a bead on me. But man, I have been on Classy's radar a lot lately...it's ironic, because I really like her. I try not to misbehave, but I think she does not approve of some of my pictures which celebrate the feminine physique. Now, I don't blame her for this, I just hate to have to mark so many of them that I like with the "Don't post on ECF" tag on photobucket.

It is almost as full as my cheerleader tags. Almost.

Yep that is sort of where I am with these things. I will try rewicking them and see how it goes. Worse comes to worse I pick up more carto tanks and drop these in my vapocalypse box.
