Because polishing S/S to a near mirror finish costs money too, possibly more than just giving it quick brush to remove scratches and spraying it with some lacquer.

I wish they didn't think that bare stainless steel just has to be polished. A brushed finish is more attractive (IMHO), doesn't show scratches as easily, can be done cheaply, and isn't 'slippery'.

It would make sense if the lacquered Vamo was brushed, as the lacquer would then have a textured surface to key into and would be more durable. It would appear more shiny though if it was given quick polish and then lacquered, however the lacquer would be more likely to flake off.

I'm also confused about the term "black chrome" because if it is lacquer as I suspect then 'chrome' has absolutely nothing to do with it. Maybe they think that 'chrome' is a coating, therefore all coatings are 'chrome'?

{Shrug} It's from China where they think everything with a heating element is an atomizer.

I got the same error.. i wanted to here you say "mate" lol

OK, when my real computer gets found and set up I'll have to have another go at this. I've been on my little netbook for weeks and the cut-down operating system I put on it was probably a good idea for its intended purpose, but is a lot more restrictive when trying to do more unusual tasks.

I'll make sure I say 'mate' just for you ;-)

I actually have less problem with this because technically it almost correct. It's just that vapers don't use the terminology that way because when it's incorporated into the cartridge it becomes a cartomiser, and when it incorporated into a tank with a wick it's a 'head'. I can see how they would have trouble with this.

Kanger Evod battery recall

URGENT: Kanger EVOD Recall due to Fire Risk

I think this is the early first generation of Evod batteries. I don't recall anyone here saying they used them but here's the heads-up.

It must have taken a while for the problem to show up so I'm guessing that as the batteries die with use/age they can go into a dangerous failure mode that can result in fire.

I agree and have posted about it before. You may also notice they are changing their listings to keep up with our vernacular and what they think terms might mean. It makes searching their site a nightmare though.

Fab: You are EXTRA full of information tonight!

Ha! You should have seen the stuff I started to write about metal finishing, then I remembered where I was. There is such a thing as too much information.

The company I was working for in Brisbane has not come good with a transfer/job of any kind. Looks like I'm going to have to get out my welding certifications and approach some of the mining companies up here.

Still eyeing this pretty pretty...https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10004491/1403103

I got plenty of unused cartos...
those look interesting...i'm just confused I guess on how it works...
so you put some kind of battery inside the big silver piece and screw the bottom button on and the red piece is just an outer decorative case?
And then use any 510 cartomizer and the smaller red piece covers it? why the mouthpiece?

so essentially it's just like an ego battery but you remove and charge the actual battery?
what's with the two batteries?

Get some red Evod BCCs as well. The Evod looks great on the K100. I like it in 18350 mode - Myrany and I were discussing the K100 a few weeks ago (I posted pics).

It's great they've expanded the range to some of the other Empire designs and colours - what a difference just two weeks makes on FT.

Careful, it's a mechanical. More specifically it's a telescopic mechanical which means that the inner tube screws in or out to take the widest possible range of battery sizes. I'd recommend you use a standard resistance coil on these, 2.4 or even 2.6 ohms because there is nothing to regulate the battery voltage. Maybe research some mechanical mods before jumping in, but it's a great place to start.

Reality Check please!

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...373-battery-make-question-2.html#post10135351

Scroll down to post #12 about the "CE" symbol. Was the poster joking and I walked right into it?

I think he was just saying that proper brand name batteries will also have the CE and disposal symbols on it. The generic manufacturers often don't bother putting that stuff on there because it's an extra manufacturing step. Just a means of identification, that's all.

lmfao yeah that's why I haven't said anything about it...I've been looking at them for a bit...but confused

I saw you "liked" my CE post - but considering the guy's join date & post count, he has to be kidding, right? I don't mind looking stupid, since I got the correct info posted in case someone believed what he said, but I'm confused.

His post could have been misinterpreted, your's gave some clarification. If he was thinking that only Joytech put those symbols on their product then he was wrong, however it's also true that the generic Chinese manufacturers hardly ever do, and if they do put CE on it (conforms to an electrical safety standard I think) there's no guarantee that it really *does* conform. Cheap ego chargers and USB power supplies seem to be the worst offenders in this regard.

I'm doing a little ore research on this and it looks to be a fairly good "learning" mech, it is really pretty on shorty mode, and I really like the look.
So, 2.0 SR pre-punched cartos? I don't need to use the tank all of the time, it has the standard 510 connection.
And some more batteries?

I think I have to wait 3 more weeks.I think this is it. I just have to decide on the color.
