Fab will the 3400 mah button top work in a proV

I don't actually own a Prothingy, but I'd have to say it would. The main variation in thickness in the batteries is the wrapping, and the maximum variation in the length is about 5 mm and that is for a protected battery. The voltages of course will be the same.

What I do have a problem with is the overall performance of some or most of these higher capacity batteries is not really that great. There's a lot of trade offs with the battery technology at this level. While the available maximum current may be greater, we don't really need it for a regulated device like the Provari and Vamo and the actual performance in a PV may not be any better than the lower capacity batteries. There was one test done by someone over on the flashlight forums on a high capacity battery which show the actual available power before the 3.2 V cutoff was less than the 2000 mAh I just bought from fastech (which happens to be one of the cheapest and best performers I could find after a lot of hours researching batteries).

There's a review of batteries and lots of good information here: 2012 Battery test/review summary. Higher capacity figures on the batteries does not actually equate to better performance, or even the equivalent performance for out purposes.

I don't see the advantage of paying for a performance feature that we don't really need when the trade-offs are likely to be actual run time in a PV and especially the long term lifespan of the battery. My experience with paying for the highest performance batteries and the problems associated with them has convinced me to stay with the cheaper lower rated batteries that have more reliable and safer technology.

The batteries I just bought are only rated at 2000 mAh, but deliver most of that power before the 3.2V cuttoff. If you dig up some of the discharge curves on these higher capacity batteries, a lot of that extra runtime is below the 3.2V cutoff, since the rated discharge is to dead flat or 2.7V, which is pretty much the same thing.

Make sure you pass that on to all the newbs in the new members section. I am sure they would love to hear an honest review of the prothingy.

Bad monkey! No banana! What have you been told about teasing the other animals?

chelle...please keep your FT foo on the lookout for the clearo thinger in this video....there is currently something similar but not..since it is a top coil (the one in the vid is bottom coil)...i also figured everyone might get a kick out of her giggle and how she demonstrates NO leaking LOL

so far...i really like my DIY (and it is only my second "recipe"!)

I love them. I have about 20 on my desk. I can't find them on FT though. I get mine for $8.50 a box (5 per box, plus syringe) from Vapors Choice.

are those the ce3?

Yes - CE3 XLs, but the older kind. You have to make sure about that. There are newer CE3s that have something different going on. She's right, they don't leak; however, they do die and you can kill them.

I was told they don't react to cracker juices, but I've found that isn't exactly true. The tube doesn't crack or discolor, but something happens somewhere inside. I noticed the only ones I had that died prematurely had cinnamon or strong citrus in them. That said, those were sitting around a while with juice in them and they only hold 1.5ml anyway. I use cracker juices in them, I just don't expect them to last very long. They are sealed - so it's one flavor until they die - but I usually get 3 or 4 fills* with them. And losing 5 or 7 early out of about 35 isn't bad I don't think.

CE3 XL Clearomizer [CE3XL] - $8.50 : Vapors Choice, Ecigarettes & Parts

ETA: I started using them because they fit on the 'vari - they look a little odd (they are skinny like a Nano) but I don't care. They look cool on a cig-a-like though, which I use sometimes for stealth. I also use them to test flavors when I'm too lazy to drip. They work fine on the Vamo.

ETAA: $8.50 is the best price I've found.

*ETA: I'd probably get more fills if I liked the juice...

I am using a KR80D version on my ancient cigalike battery. It is basically a CE2. Now if there is a 510 version I am a happy camper.

Thanks!!!
i think these are perfect! i had been hoping for FT nanos but these are like $1.70/per versus $4/per...i don't need pretty colors to test juice and for a minute there the nano was all i was using on the prov...want me to give you a vaccination? LOL
at this exact moment i am wishing i had seen these above ANY delivery system i have LOL
(so much for no forthcoming vapemail huh?)

and FT has $3 cigalikes (not pink led..but $3) so i can round out my *current* wish list....and then of course i will want a box mod or some such silliness....i might have a problem? naaah....i just like variety? :)
(i'll keep telling myself such)

Mine must be CE3 then even though they have been labeled as CE2. They have the bottom coil and no long wicks hanging down. Been using them for nearly 6 weeks. Only had 1 crack from a banana nut bread juice. Even then it was one tiny crack after running nearly 10 ML through it.
