FYI, if you pluck a certain hair in your nostril you will die!
My old boss told me that with a certainty in his voice.
He died a few years ago and I never found out if that was the reason.
I thought it was "stop picking your nose or your hear will cave in"?

In any case, the OP quit vaping and that is cool. Not sure where he got all of his information but I shall look into the getting ugly thing. I can't afford that.

Honestly though, I wonder how many vapers DO get caught up in the cool new mods and tanks and cool boutique juices, the social aspect online and/or at B&Ms and never really consider quitting vaping? Personally, I am only a couple months off a 30 year cigarette habit, so haven't considered doing anything other than dropping my nic intake from 12mg to 6mg/3mg. Vaping isn't terrible but we can all, agree that is isn't GOOD for you. My $0.02 in any case.

Nope, don't feel that way at all. But then, I don't feel like a slave to nicotine. I like nicotine. The same way I like caffeine in my coffee, Tryptophan in my turkey, veal in my parmigiana and HauntedMystotine in my pizza (yeah, it's mine, I'm claiming the discovery of the compound you get when you make a pizza just right. It's creates that warm, joyful, peace on earth, goodwill toward man feeling you get during and after eating a Chicago deep dish pizza)

Hmmm. Initially, I wanted to reduce my nic at a non-withdrawal symptoms rate. I am at 3 & 1.5mg and I like it. I don't always vape. Actually, I vape when driving, at the computer, and when I specifically sit to relax.

I like the tinkering, I like the mechanical engineering involved. The flavors are enjoyable, a treat. I am rather particular about flavors, that is a part of the hobby side. I am diabetic now, but I can enjoy apple pie, or fruit loops, or a very good chocolate cookie, and do it like I am stuffing myself.

I get busy doing things and forget about vaping, I am probably close to being able to quit it without issue, but why? I have a few reasons to vape, and I see little to no reason not to. I have done a lot of things in my life that were dirty, very unhealthy, messy, seriously dangerous, but it was all my choice and I have no regrets.

I do regret cigarettes. Life is better now. Have a good reason for what you do, I believe we all answer for it eventually.

25 wow so much time to have experienced the evils of nicotine, me I'm a late bloomer started smoking at 9 enjoyed it until I was 39 when I made the switch to vaping due to the health issues from smoking. Still vaping now and plan to till the day I Croak because nicotine is my only vice I enjoy it's effects and don't really care what anyone has to say about it. Personally anyone who looks down on any part of my life can feel free to have no part in it I've put that into practice with family and friends and fully believe I'm a much happier person now I don't let idiots influence my life ymmv.

Does anyone else have the same thoughts? I was so dependent on vaping that I took my ecig everywhere and couldnt even go to the bathroom without it. Too much money was being wasted. What was wasted on this addiction probably couldve bought a new car. I was sort of shamed into quitting by my mom. She's extremely anti tobacco/anti ecigs, that she believes all the propaganda about it being as bad as real cigarettes. I was so embarrassed by my ecig use that I always hid my habit and never admitted to using it. Plus the fact that smokers look old/ugly fast and are perceived as losers was something I didnt want to deal with. Even though vaping isnt as bad as smoking, the evidence shows nicotine alone ages you just like cigarettes would.

Hmm, as long as you don't start (restart?) using tobacco, more power to ya.

As for myself, I did help my daughter buy a brand new car with the money saved from not buying cigarettes. Vaping does not have to be expensive, once you get invested into a decent system.

While I don't personally like being beholden to bad habits either, the fact is I'm addicted to nicotine and vaping is the safest way for me to get it without smoking cigs. Nothing else has even come close to success for me.

Glad you were able to escape the shame and guilt you allowed yourself to feel over vaping.

Nicotine used moderately is not any worse for you than caffeine. Per medical experts. It reacts very similarly with your body.
Yes it is better to not smoke or vape. If you never smoked then yes you should not have started vaping either. Vaping is MUCH safer than smoking but it is safer to do neither.

Vaping is an excellent replacement for smoking but I personally do not encourage any non smokers to vape.

'To each his own', I guess. I smoked very heavily for 50 years, had two strokes at 35, lost all my teeth at 50 due to gum disease and that didn't make me quit. I quit, without intent almost a year ago when I first took up vaping and I've been on a pink cloud ever since. Parkinson's is prevalent in my family and my mother has been diagnosed with PSP so I have no desire to give up nicotine. For a beat up old man I'm in a pretty good spot in my life right now and if someone would ask what I think of vaping; I'd respond; "It's a thing of fornicating pulchritude"!!

First off congrats to quitting!

Secondly not all smokers or exsmokers age badly and look ugly. I am 49 and when I tell people my age they are shocked saying I look mid thirties. You can consumer nicotine and still take care of yourself. Sunscreen being a must if you do not want to age badly. I also have to say the burning of tobacco and inhaling thousands of toxin from cigs is what will age the skin. So don't buy into the smokers/vapers ugly bit at all.

Lastly it is wonderful that you listen to your mother but you are 25. You are an adult and can make your own decisions and that is good. Always be proud of who you are and stop hiding things if you enjoy them and it is not illegal. Please go back to vaping if you find you cannot deal with the loss of nic or whatever just don't go back to cigarettes.

I seriously agree with this.

Don't forget some people kick on addiction and substitute another. I come from a family of hardcore smokers and when I was growing up, there was only one member of my extended family that didn't smoke who wasn't morbidly obese.

Some of us are biologically programed to just have to pick our poison.

At 25 I had been on my own since I was 19.... Supported my own .... ever since and some other butts as well...
yep did not realize for a while that my mother was a travel agent always booking guilt trips for me.
But I got over it.
Vaping was the only way I could kick a 40+ year smoking habit.
1 year Vapeaversary today. Cig free for 1 year.

Congrats on stopping but if you ever feel the need again, come back to vaping and not to smoking.

Coming from someone who quit smoking 3 times before and each time being a 3 year or so span, I know for certain that I can and WILL stop vaping within the next year or two. It's been over a month now for me, and I'm already going 8 to 12 hours without a vape at work.

I honestly believe I could have done it a 4th time Cold turkey but I have to admit vaping has made it that much more easier. And I only vape at home and in the car..

Substituting vapin for smoking is easy.
I did not even want to quit. Had gone around with quitting several times and NRT things over the years and nothing worked so i decided that I would just keep on smoking.
the wife unit suprised me with a way overpriced cigalike kit. So I figured what the heck I would try it. Was off of cigs within a week. After 40+ years of 1-2 packs a day.
Of course I am now vaping at 300 watts with a dripper the size of a soup can with quad 12 gauge claptons.. LOL

Naah I vape a Subtank mini at about 14 watts.

Then why did so many people tell me I looked 5 or even 10 years younger a few months after I gave up a 36 year smoking habit in favor of vaping? And yes, I use substantial amounts of nic -- 5 to 7 ml of 15 mg liquid a day.

I'm not saying nic is completely harmless, but "ages you just like cigarettes"? Nope, ain't buying that.
